Lights for running boards

I've done some searching to see if anyone makes a kit to have a courtesy light that shines on the running boards when the doors open. I just installed black running boards and realized they are nearly invisible even with the doors open.

If there are no options then I will end up making something.

I have the same truck, the tubular ones from Ram are nice and really sturdy. They go on in about an hour.

If I do a custom setup I'll be doing it so the light for each door comes on when that door is opened if possible. I have to look at the wiring diagrams to decide how I would do it.

I have black 3" tubular nerf bars on my blacked out 14 CC... and will agree they are somewhat hard to see when its dark out. I've thought about some amber LEDS at the base of the doors that uses the door switches or parking lights to turn them on. I like the door switch idea as it will activate only when the doors are open which is the only time u use the steps.

Get some white led undercar lights and wire them into the door switch. Several companies sell them or eBay also has them. Just get a couple 36" tubes that should give you plenty of light.
