New to the forum so wanted to say hey guys!. so I just got my new ram a few months ago. I love the new style I've had a 2003 2500 5.7 and a 2008 250 6.7. I think the new 6.4 has a good amount of power but I'm a little upset they still have these good for nothing headlights. Seriously dodge you couldn't correct this by now? Ok rant over but want to know what you guys are doing to help this issue. In my last trucks I put in the sylvania silver stars in and they were better but not great. I see they now have a new level I think they are the ultra stars are they any better? Or should I go the led route?. Ok now for accessorie lights I want to add a long light bar with two smaller ones in the front. I was thinking a 30inch in the hole in the number with a 8inch on each side where it drops down in between the head lights. Anyone do this? If so do you have any pics and how were the results? I see a ton of these led light bars ranging in price a lot . Is there a big difference?
Thanks a ton guys

On my 2014 6.4L HEMI & 2017 6.7L CTD trucks I had the stock halogen projector headlights.

For me it was a simple matter of installing an aftermarket HID kit.

Welcome to RamForum.

How do I know if I have projector headlights? I thought the projector lights were only on the 1500 rebel trucks. I am prob wrong lol. Also what lights do you recommend? Are the new sylvanias not good?

Nope...Big Horn, Sport & Laramie trucks have projector headlamps.

If you have the ^^^this^^^ style headlamp, then upgrading to the Sylvania UltraStar or SilverStar bulb would help with light output. Putco and PIAA also have some good bulbs you can use. Those brands will have about the same improvement in light output.

If you have the projector headlamps, HID's would be the best upgrade. There are lots of threads here on them you can review. I personally have used Morimoto HID kits as they have never failed to work for me. Other members may recommend a different brand.

I have the big horn but have the top headlights. I've never seen the lower lights in a 2500. So what lights are the best now knowing what I have?

Do not use HID or LED bulbs in your reflector housings. You'll blind on coming traffic. Your best option is to invest in a pair of projector headlight housings already retrofitted with HID. LEDs don't sync well with RAM projectors. The other (cheaper) option is to just upgrade to better halogen bulbs. But this won't compare with HID bulbs.

You'll need a 9005 base bulb.

The Sylvania Silverstar Ultra, Putco Pure Halogen or PIAA Xtreme White bulbs will all be a good upgrade for your truck.

I have HID's in my headlights and fogs. Works good. Even with my tinted windshield and living out in the country along dark roads I can see decently. I also have a couple LED off road lights behind the grill.
