I always used tow/haul in my 2013 1500 up till i got rid of it with 67,000 miles and never had any issues. But with tow/haul activated my MDS would not kick in. Only with the tow/haul off would it kick in.

If you can find any actual proof of this I'd be interested in hearing it.
I'm not saying it doesn't, just that nobody has ever been able to provide evidence beyond "so-and-so said it does"
look at powertrain produces ing. there rebuilding it ! just see all they do well help u if ever u need a new engine ! I still say sitting in 5 mph trafic a hour and 26 psi on oil pressing up to lifters and running on 4 isn't giving bad lifters oil and roller bearings going bad ! if ya wanted to save gas put a 4 in the truck ok ! try walking with one bad leg that's how the truck engine feels hehehe just me !

Did not know this, it pokes holes in my theory of the cooler cylinders being next to hot cylinders adding to the stress on the manifolds breaking the bolts. hmmmm

Thank you.
you are right on and the way the t pipe is doesn't work well ! ask any race driver ! one who builds engines !

Hell yeah brother!!! :happy107: :happy160:
Get rid of the MDS. I think it sucks. They can put the gas saving crap on the economy cars , not on my V8 truck!!!

What are your opinions of towing? Is towing a arc on a 5x8 trailer considered heavy enough to use Tow/haul mode? It just sucks if gas really. Have not found any recommendations from RAM when to really use this mode, it just says towing.,.,

I agree--no MDS and a Pedal Commander---you'll be smiling every time you drive

So I read this thread today& I go to start my 217 1500 Sport with 67500 and my check engine light comes on. I stop by auto zone and it says fuel pump fuel sensor. As I’m driving I realize that my economy light doesn’t come on any more. Does that mean my truck is running on 8 cal all the time. Have to bring truck to mechanic. Just thought what a coincidence!!!

I love to listen to all this fantasy about MDS and the huge performance gains you get if you turn it off. Only time it causes aggravation is if you have put an after market loud exhaust on the truck because it sounds like crap when it goes into four cylinder mode. If you leave the factory exhaust on you will not hear it shift in or out. You can line up two Rams equipped alike and both factory stock with no mods at all including tires and wheels turn off MDS on one Truck and leave the other one with the MDS on take off foot to floor and there will be no difference. The one with the MDS manually cut off will have zero advantage over the one with MDS still on. Now if you also cut traction control off on the truck with MDS turned off as one person said on this post then this truck will be at a large disadvantage and the truck with MDS and Traction control still on will pull out in front and leave the other truck behind. Reason being without Traction control on it will break the tires loose while the other truck will have little or no tire spin. Since 2009 when I got my first half ton Ram with a 5.7 Hemi I have logged about 900,000 miles on six half ton Rams including my new 2019. I feel like I have had plenty of experience with the Hemi with MDS I never notice it, could be my driving habits since I leave a stop hard and generally run seventy to eighty five mph on the highway.
