Im new on here and I need some opinions, i'm gonna put an aftermarket sub and amp, but having trouble deciding which LOC to use. I've narrowed it down to the AudioControl Lc2i or the Rockford Fosgate RF-BLD line driver. Can you guys shed some light on these

IMO if you are only adding a amp and sub buy one of the basic 10-15$ one. i used it for a while and it worked great. no need to spend the xtra money. but both of those will work flawlessly.

I use the LC2i and it works great. Never had to use an LOC before this one, but I had heard of some sound issues like static and muddled output with the cheaper ones. But I have never personally used one. LC2i is worth it in my opinion. If you don't have to buy a head unit, might as well spend a little more on the quality going to your subs IMO.

I used a PAC loc. Can't remember the model but it has worked for over a year so far. Just plug and play.

if you have an amp that will take speaker leads, you wont need one.

since your only adding a sub and amp and nothing else i would just use a cheap basic LOC. you can get them for alike 30 at wally world. i did that on my '11 durango and that had the alpine system in it and had NO issues.

I would recommend spending the money on the lc2i I've herd good things about them. My buddy bought a cheep loc from car toys by there recommendations and he had 2 12 in jbl and a 1200w sony amp and it was extremely muddy sounding and just didn't have any kick. Sounded like a 8 in with a 50 watt amp. We upgraded the factory head unit to one with amp outputs and then it hit like it should shook everything. The lc2i has controls to adjust it to your liking I would spend the money for the clarity I'm going to put the lc2i or lc6i in my truck when it comes time depending if I'm going to amp the door speakers or not. :waytogo:

where did you tie it into? i'm thinking of using the factory sub wires for the signal.

I didn't have the upgraded alpine system, so I didn't have to deal with the stock amp and sub. I tapped into the rear passenger door speaker at the B Pillar. But I believe there is a little more complexity since you have the stock amp and all. Not sure exactly what you would have to do with that, sorry.

I am looking at changing out the factory sub in my '14 Ram Sport. I'm going to need to use a LOC, just changing the sub and keeping factory speakers. Where will I have to tie the loc in to? I've heard lots of conflicting information. Some say rear speakers, some say front speakers. I've been told it has to be wired in after the factory amp because it is only a data signal before the amp. Is it best to use the front speakers or rear speakers? Some also say you can just wire it into the plug from the factory sub but not sure on that either.

Thanks

I just found out that on the amp that Ill be installing a loc isn't needed. I would read up and see if yours is the same.

I've read through so many pages and what a lot of people say is don't tie into the factory sub plug because it doesn't get the full range, but I think that was when people are using this sub plug for speakers also, since it is just wiring up for a sub I thought it'd be alright, it is also the easiest to wire in and won't have to be chopping in wires around te factory amp. If anyone's done anything like this, I'd be interested in hearing your opinions
