I have no particular brand loyalty, so I went looking at a new Sierra last week. It was a beautiful truck with the fire breathing 6.2. Still may go with another RAM, but I like to keep my options open.

They also put a 3.0 Diesel in some that makes a ton of torque, but still gets 30MPG as a daily. that may work just fine.

I'm looking for a 4-door 4WD that can tow more, or more easily. My V6 has done really well, but I pulled a heavy industrial lawn mower recently and it struggled a little.

I may wait for the new interiors of the 2022 models, though. Also, the Silverado's have a hideous front end.

I also have no brand loyalty and find most things I don’t like cosmetic wise can be addressed aftermarket. Now as far as interiors, are you sure there’s going to be a big change for 2022 in that Sierra ?

They are hit and miss with long term dependability. My family is GM and Ford loyal. My brother has a 11 Sierra no real issues at well over 100k. Same way with my grandpas 15 Silverado. My dad hasn't had great luck with them. He had a 07 Sierra motor rattled bad as it got over 100k. Same way with his 07 Silverado. They look good, but I still think Dodge has the best looking truck. My dads current 13 ecoboost F150 is still going strong and its going to close in on 200k next year.

When I was shopping a couple years ago, I looked at the GM options as well. The ride in the RAM, along with the Rambox feature, put me in the truck I bought. I don't really get into brand loyalty either, unless I am talking to my die hard blue oval cousin, then phords suck. From what I see, they are all really nice anymore, so buy what you like and enjoy the ride!

Just an observation though - the V6 is not really the comparable power plant to the 6.2 in the GM.

This is true. My dads Furd Ecoboost with several aftermarket parts on it, I still walk him in a almost stock Hemi.

I like the GMC trucks as well, the only thing that kills it for me is that the interior is inferior to Ram's interior. Ram is tops in my opinion when it comes to the "Big 3" truck interiors.
I LOVE the AT4 with the 2 inch factory lift. If one could get it with the 6.2L in the double cab version, that would be killer. I love how they have the big brake kit upgrade as well. That's pretty nasty.

Always owned GM/Chevy trucks. Had 2020 Laramie built May/2020 because of the front look, interior & RAM boxes. I ordered the trailer option but could not get TTPMS & rear mirror camera. I was disappointed & purchased after-market equipment which I don't like adding items to the dash when I have a 12" radio display. Looking to see if TTPMS can be added. No regrets in the purchase.

I am one of those "Mopar or No Car" guys. But when I first saw how nice the new Silverado Customs were and the dealers had them marked at $32,000, I knew that GM pickups were about to become like Rams used to be in the 1990s and early 2000s. And I was right. Right now, you cannot throw a rock and not hit a new Chevy or GMC pickup. They are that common.

Checking out a 2020 Silverado Custom that a guy has at work, I noticed that GM basically just shaped the body so it looks really nice without many options. Everything is body color. And in my opinion, the new Halogen headlight assembles on the Chevy are more attractive than their LED assembles. The guy at work just put some LED headlight bulbs in his and wallah, LED headlights. His custom also had alloy 20" rims and thin black OEM pipe side steps and both complement the dark metallic silver paint. The interior is black and looks just fine with the cloth seats and rubber floor board. The stereo screen is kind'a small, similar to the Ram Tradesman, but GM did a good job make it work with the dash. Overall, the truck doesn't look like it's missing anything even though it's literally a base model. For $32,000, folks in Arkansas have been buying these like hotcakes.

Here's some photos of a 2021 very similar to the guy's at work. It's now priced at $37,000. That's still very cheap for those good looks.
