Hey what’s up! This is my first post. I have a 2014 F-350 Lariat with a 6.7 diesel. Time to trade in and get a new truck. I really love the way the Ram sounds, interior looks amazing and the truck looks great. I’m looking at purchasing a gas and was just going back in forth between all of the big three. (Ford’s new 7.3 or GM’s new 6.6)

I do some heavy hauling once in a while so I’m going to stick with the 3500 or 350 versions.

Any info you can give on the 6.4 Hemi is greatly appreciated.

would you guys go with 3.73 or 4.10 for gearing?

Stick with the diesel....go with a gasser if you like to hear it scream pulling heavy.

Most of the time my truck is towing a TT. For that reason I ordered the 4.10's. I needed the 8' bed so I went ahead and ordered the 50 gallon gas tank with it. This is my 4th hemi and never any major problems with any of them.

I have a Western 9 foot commercial plow that I use for my rental properties, tow a 4 sled snowmobile/toy trailer and once in a while a 5 ton trailer with a bobcat.

The Ford was a good truck but it’s out of warranty and I figured a gas would do the trick.

I would do the Ford 7.3 with a tremor package.

My 2020 pw with 4.10 gets better than expected mpg. Just got back from a 356 mile round trip much of it 78-80mph and right at 13mpg.

I have the 6.4 / 4.10's and tow a 10-12k dump trailer a couple times a month and couldnt be happier. Last truck was a f250 with a 6.0 diesel and the 6.4 hemi pulls my trailer better and gets 1-2 mpg better to boot.

I have 6.4L with 3.73, which is just the way I wanted it. I tow occasionally @ app. 1/2 GCWR. This combination is sufficient in the rolling hills of upper midwest. Probably not in mountainous terrain, though. Then I'd go with diesel.

Keep in mind the extra $9,000 for the diesel option pays for a lot of gasoline. I would only get diesel if towing more than 1/2 capacity, or in mountainous terrain, or often. Also, assuming you are buying new, they have an 8 speed transmission now. I have the old Chrysler 6 speed. This makes the gas engine more effective as well.

I have decided on 2500 gasser myself. my son bought a new laramie 2500 dsl and complains that it only has 2100# of cargo cap. I dont want to spend the extra cash for dsl. but there are pretty much no laramie 2500 gassers in my area. not sure why that is. I would order one but the dealers cant tell for sure when they can deliver..also no good deals to be had if you order. may have to go f-250 lariat because they are available but price for equal level of trim is several thousand more..gm is definitely out because dont want to go with their 6 speed.

Nowadays everyone wants a diesel even though most use them as a grocery getter. It is tuff to find a 2500 gas but I have done it 4 times since 2004.

Well, the GM products are butt ass ugly.... and soon to be all electric... so....... , onto Fird.... Nothing but everlasting problems with their diesels since the 90's. They can't figure out what liter to go with... so the made a 6.7 liter to make people think... Cummins.... Dodge Ram Cummins, unstoppable... PERIOD. But if you want the 6.4 Liter gasser, I have one, it does all I ask of it and I get decent mileage... BTW anyone on here honking the horn about pissy gas mileage should be driving a PRIUS(and their wife probably does) not a 2500 HD... Don't care what brand... but you hear the whiners out there ******** cause they don't get 20 MPG with a 7500 lb truck pulling a 14,000 lb trailer... believe me they are here.... And then they try to sell you one of them there "MODS"... OMG.. I increased my MPG by 3 MPG because I put Joe BO BO's witcha ma jigit on my truck... wow, its so much faster too....LOL Yup I am THAT GUY.... I would go with the Hemi... just service it properly, and you should have no issues. Believe half of what your read on here... Do what YOU think is best for YOU......

You will need to find one that is already built & that may prove to be difficult.

You can look at all the dealerships, Dodge, Chevy, & Ford
The truck sales lots are getting really low on inventory

If the automotive companies don't get some Microprocessors from the companies that make them, they won't be building many trucks of any brand
