Looking for a new (to me) truck, 8 speed questions...

Quad or crew have whoever is sitting back there try it and see and if you don't need the extra bed space get the crew. As for the 8speed its the #1 rated tranny in the world. They built 3.5 million in 2017 alone. Its found in RR, BMW M models and many high end performance cars. The only truck its on is the Ram where its perfect and now its in the 6.4 2500 meaning it must strong.

I've had a Ram with the 3.55 6sp QC, 3.21 8 sp QC and currently the 3.92 8 sp CC. By far the best combination for me is the 3.92 8 sp CC. Although I do miss the extra space the larger box provided I ended up buying a bed extender and it is great for those larger loads. Problem solved. The biggest advantage of going CC and small box is it seats 5 adults comfortably and turns on a dime in comparison to the others.

I’ve had the 5/6 speed, but there is no getting past the right gear at the right time in the 8 speed. Had two trucks so far, both 8 speed hemi’s and both 3:92 gears. Faultless. Had both quad cab and crew cab and find I use the space in the cab more than the bed.
