that would be you vin code you can try the dealership parts counter. they should give it to you if you ask nicely. make sure it is a 4 digit pin. some dealerships wont give it you some will charge you a small fee. if your lucky like me the just wanna see your drivers licence and registration.

Yeah their full of ****. It's your truck and it's your code. You technically paid for the code already.

Looking at that policy on paper, I could see where a dealer would want to use the 2nd bullet in their favor (call the owner an outside identity).

My dealer had no problem giving me mine, free of charge....make sure to ask the PARTS desk, not anyone else.

I walked in, asked politely and already had my license and registration ready to go.

If you’re in the business of doing it for OTHER people’s trucks, then they won’t give it to you. You need to go through tech authority and they’ll issue one to you that will expire.
