Looking at a '15 2500 CTD my question to you all is what are your likes and more importantly dislikes with these new "eco friendly" CTD engines

The biggest thing about the new "Eco friendly" diesels is that they need to be run... hard and often. The emissions equipment requires heat to perform effectively. Trucks that do a lot of idling or short trips have a greater chance to experience problems. If you tow regularly you will so happy you went for a Cummins.

Just curious... What's got you thinking of switching to a HD truck with a Cummins?

Also I put a ton of miles on a vehicle in a years time

I hear ya! I also put a lot of miles on my trucks and I like the longevity that the Cummins offers.

Truthfully I think that a 6.4 Hemi 2500 would handle my current towing needs just fine. But they were not out yet when I went looking to upgrade trucks and I got a smoking deal on this one. Now that I have her just like I want her I don't think I will ever give her up.

Sounds like a good price. We don't see too many 2500 outdoorsman models around here.

Some complaints you hear a lot are "Dead Pedal", which refers to either stomping the skinny pedal and having a 2 to 4 second delay before the truck moves (never experienced this myself) or letting off the gas and immediately stomping it and getting a delay there (this happens on mine, but it has never happened unless I was trying to get it to do it).
People also complain about the "clunky" auto trans, and the fact that the truck seems slow. It's not a dragster, but it goes just fine for me. I wasn't expecting this truck to be a hotrod.
The Cummins really shines when you put a load behind the truck. If you're looking for more info and advice, check cumminsforum. Good luck!

I like my new 2015 CTD, it's a first for me. I can't offer up too much advice accept that it does take longer to warn up than gas motors. Also, definitely plenty of get up and go, but obviously more torque than HP. Not as fast as it can be with a tune and delete, but then longevity would be in question.

Also I hope you try to get that 49k truck for close to 40k. Don't pay sticker, ever. I didn't get as much off as some did, more like 10k. Some have reported as much as 14k off, but I don't know.
