I have a 2015 Ram 1500 bighorn. I've installed the OEM tailgate camera and harnesses in the tailgate. I've enabled the settings with AlfaOBD and had code flashed at dealer for cameras. I apparently only have two wires under the truck though as I was not smart enough to double check this as I was in a hurry after wife backed into a post. Don't worry, she's not driving it anymore lol. At least till I get a new one. I need the rest of the harnesses. I was wondering if anyone knew part numbers I need.

I have to wonder why you had to had the Computer flashed for a Tailgate Handle Camera ?
unless it was a Tradesman.

Every American built vehicle was built with a backup camera in 2015, it was mandated

some 2010 Dodge Ram Laramies had backup cameras

I can make the missing camera harness segments for the 13-18/classic 4th Gen. it requires some legwork/checking different connectors under & inside the truck to figure out exactly what's missing to know what to build. Mopar definitely didn't make all the trucks the same wiring wise.

Send me a message if you'd like to get things started for a harness build.

Hey Cyphertx0, I did nearly the exact same thing lol. I bought a 2014 SLT and saw it has a camera in tailgate. Prev owner told me the mirror display didn't work..I put in an aftermarket stereo to replace the RA1 radio and figured I'd get an image there. Nope. Opened up the A pillar and noticed a harness unplugged that didn't mate with the other on. Deleted the harness and spliced the color matched wires. still no video in mirror. Finally went to tailgate and noticed I only have 2 wires in the chassis harness (for power tailgate lock). Interestingly The camera is there and wires up the the tailgate harness

Rather than buy new chassis wiring and possibly hit a dead end at the body wiring,, I decided the easiest way was to run power and video RCA from my aftermarket to the harness. I found a matching harness (10 Pin Connector - compatible with F24D10, CET1022F, Aptiv (Delphi) 54241) with 10 12" pigtail wires coming out to replace the existing with only 2. Also got a "Car Rear Camera Cable Video RBG RCA Cable Adapter" and cut of the 2 pin harness to have exposed wires. Then drilled a hole in the clutch delete plate and ran the VCA and power to the back. Spliced in the adapter to the new harness along with power and ground, and cut and spliced in the old 2 wires for the power tailgate. Did not need LIn Bus CBC 3 wire or camera shield.

OEM backup camera now works in my new stereo! Next project is to find out if my mirror will work and split the feed and run a second view to mirror, and to use the 3.5mm aux mic in to splice into OEM microphone in the mirror).

Hope this helps someone.

Any one know which model u connect Chrysler made that had nav and the back up camera ?
This unit here has the back up camera and it's the u connect I'm speaking of before the 8.4" screen.
I'm trying to find it to swap with my unit that has nav in my 2009 ram.
I'm pretty sure the white plug in is for the oem camera wire.
My u connect does not have that, but has the nav button and Sirius radio.

I had a Ram 1500 SLT, which is the same as the BigHorn
It had been built in November 2008
It had the RER 730N Radio with Navigation

When the new 2010 Rams were on the sales lot, i noticed that some models had TailGate Cameras
The truck that i saw it on, also had a Manually Locking Tailgate

My 2009 did not have either of those things

The Dealership Service Adviser & 1 guy in the Parts Department got together, the 2010 Tailgate Camera with full harness & the Tailgate Locking Mechanism were ordered & Installed by the dealership

The Tailgate Camera did not have the Guide Lines, like my 2016 Ram has

There is a YouTube Video(s) that show how to add a tailgate camera

My 2009 Dodge Ram tailgate did not LOCK
It came with no lock in the tailgate, no place for the front door key

1740907837609.png
this was inside the tailgate/handle, no way to lock the tailgate handle
1740908069056.png

the Black part was added to the part above
That is the locking mechanism

1740907682693.png

now i just needed a tailgate Handle with 2 holes
1 for the Lock Tumbler, the other for the camera

On the lower right by the AUX button on the faceplate is a three-letter code. In 2009 the only one with NAV was the RER (730N). In 2011 they offered two NAV radios, the RHB (430N), and the RHR (730N), an "upgraded" RER. All are compatible with the 2009, as long as they are high-speed bus. The RHB uses an external uConnect module, the RER\RHR have internal uConnect.

That white plug is not for the backup camera, the camera connects to the 22 pin connector next to that white socket.

This site will show you the radio connections, once you put in the year and model, do a search for radio

There was a complete OEM kit you could buy, 82211184, not sure if it's still avaialble though.

That kit number is only 8 digits. The site wants a 10 digit numerical/letter number.
Are you aware of ram having a back up camera in any of their 1500-3500 2009-2012 series that had a back up cam with the u connect ?

Thanks for the info

Just put the 8 digit # in Google search - it will pop up

What radio is in your truck now - that does make a difference on what you'll need, and I assume you do not currently have uconnect, correct?

The three mygig radios I posted above, (RHB, RER, or RHR), all have NAV and will support both a backup cam and uconnect. If your truck does not already have uconnect, the RHB will also require the external module and wiring. There is a kit to add it but I don't have that part #. The other two have uconnect built-in, all you'll need to add is an external mic for uconnect. In addition, for the NAV to work, you'll need a GPS antenna, The RER, can use a separate GPS one, the RHB and RHR use a combination antenna. the puck style on the roof. You can get a used one off ebay from a 2011 or 2012 that does both. the 2009 and 2010 only do Sirius XM, not NAV.

If you already have the RER, you don't need another radio, it will support the camera, and it should already have uconnect to connect to the phone for calls, it just doesn't support bluetooth audio streaming. All you need is to install the backup cam and have the computer flashed to enable the camera. You probably don't have the wiring from the tailgate up to the radio, but the kit I posted has all you need. Flashing the computer can be done by the dealer, or you could do it yourself with a program like AlfaOBD.

Ok my truck has the RER 730N . My u connect is internal, I know that forsure. I have the mic already and the antenna. So what do I need to get the tail gate cam ?
