Loud obnoxious squeal

2007 regular cab 1500 sport. Started hearing a really loud, high pitched squealing lately. Changed both front hub assemblies thinking that was the issue and it wasn’t. Although, every time I put on my brakes the squealing stops. A buddy told me maybe a “tattletale” with the brakes? Not sure if sound is coming from front or rear of truck. Suggestions?

Stop playing the soundtrack to Deliverance on your radio?

Seriously, it could be just a case of the brake pads needing anti-squeal compound, or like your buddy says, the wear indicators are rubbing on the rotors, How did the pads look when you swapped the hub assemblies?
