Does anyone in the Minneapolis, MN area have a tuner and is willing to turn off my MDS? I recently started having issues with loud ticking while at low speeds with MDS activated.

You might have other issues, that you should maybe investigate a bit further.
As Hemi stated it's not cheap to just turn off you're mds,you need an unlocked pcm, then at the very least you'll have to buy a diablo tuner,or spring for HP's tuning program.
Most guys aren't willing to marry their tuner to your truck,so you'll have to buy your own tuner

Can't you use the gear limiter trick in 4th gens like you can the 5th gens? Or tow haul? Either of those should prevent MDS from activating but you probably have something else going on.

As mentioned you can deactivate the MDS by manually selecting a gear...like 7 or 8 with the gear buttons on the steering wheel. (8 speed xmission.) I believe the tow/haul button deactivates MDS on the 6 speed xmission but you should have the 8.
Also mentioned, there is plenty of reading here on tick and MDS. Try a search. Here is one such thread. https://www.ramforum.com/threads/fo...ing-the-mds-via-a-tune-is-a-good-idea.208920/

Use the truck as intended and turn off the MDS when you see it turning on and off frequently. It's like everything else, use it or lose it. In other words, at least use those MDS lifters here and there and use a high-quality oil to keep the sludge from forming and the screens open on the MDS solenoids.
