Getting the camper ready for an outing shortly and decided to stick my Weigh Safe Hitch in the truck and see what the tongue weight is.

The camper has everything in it except for some food and clothing which shouldn't be more than a few extra pounds.

To me it reads a hair over 700lbs for the tongue weight on what the scale reads.

Considering I've added an electric tongue jack and some other small things, it isn't too bad.978fa01272010fb7c984ca86b5ab9d50.jpg4c81a10a4bb12c466262f543455f3b01.jpg

The listed hitch weight for my camper is 645lbs. 2015 Keystone Hideout 260 LHS. I don't know how accurate those scales are, but I'm guessing it isn't too far off. I was just checking to see what it says.

I wouldn't use it to tow, I have my Trutrac WDH for that.

Its designed to tow with. I wouldn't be scared to use it. At a 645# I don't think you'd need a wdh. Even though its 26' long. However you could take it down the road say 20 miles or so to get a feel for this hitch. I like it. Where'd you get it from?

I got it off etrailer.com . It wasn't cheap, but I was towing utilitiy trailers with different size hitch ball requirements and got sick of switching between different shanks/hitch balls that were one piece all the time. This, came with the 2 and the 2 5/16 balls and then I bought the 1 7/8 ball. Also bought the Weigh-Safe locking hitch pin and the cover for the lock to keep crap out of it. Just need to clean it up a bit before I put it away.

I really do like it!!! Easy to use, and built tough.

I really wanted to go with that one in a 8 inch drop but they didn't have the option to include a sway bar without the full WDH. Ended up with Bulletproof with optional 2/2 1/2 ball hitch with the sway ball mounted in either side. It is very solid and I am ordering the WDH connection mount, will be able to tow just about anything I need.

I read reviews on them and heard they are really accurate but many said the gauge quit working after a few weeks. Curious to hear how yours holds up

Now I want one of those...looks like it is pretty much a fool proof setup.

That looks really nice. If I were to replace my Equalizer, I might seriously look into this. They are about the same price.

I was able to get a deal on my Curt TruTrack so that's why I bought it. Seeing this one, now I am really wanting to get my hands on one.

No special washers, no head tilt adjustments, no torqueing hitch head bolts, easy adjustments, true tongue weight measurement, no guessing....yeah, I really want to give this a try.

That's what caught my attention too. I like my Better Weigh app and scale but I'm wondering about the accuracy. Now that I installed those Tuftruck springs I'll have to recalibrate everything.

I saw a guy on Youtube do a review awhile ago on the Better Weigh. He verified it with actual scale weights and said it was very accurate

I saw that too. That's one of the reasons I bought it. Typically its calibrated when you enter your vin but that didn't work for my truck so I had to manually calibrate it. I'll give it another try the next time I take out my trailer. Basically I'll have to recalibrate everything because of my new springs.

Doesn't look like a very robust sway control system. I'd wait for some feedback on that before I'd consider an option.
