Finally got all my goodies installed........magnaflow Y pipe.....18" muffler.....87mm throttle body....and S&B CAI.

First things first.....props to Matt at Moes.....he really takes the time to discuss everything Ur wanna know about what Ur buying or should buy for Ur Ram. On top of that....the delivery guy is pretty much knocking on the door before u even get off the phone. Great doing business with him.

Muffler shop charged me $100 to cut out the mashed pipe....fab up to the Y.....and weld it in....along with a small fab piece to fit the gap in the DO Magnaflow.

The throttle body and CAI went in same day........TB couldn't have been any easier to install. The S&B......to be honest......wasn't as simple as I'd hoped. The most annoying part was at the end......the clear cover on the air box.......the bolt holes didn't line up. When all four bolts are installed......there is a bow in the cover....and it doesn't seat on the air box. Has anyone else had any trouble with this?

Anyhow......even before the exhaust was installed......the truck sounded totally different under throttle......meaner.....all business.

The power gain is evident......and so far I'm up at least 2mpg. Can't beat more power and better efficiency.

With the exhaust.....it just feels and sounds like a monster. I love it.

Aside from the issue with the CAI I am very pleased with the mods......they really uncaged this thing.

I'll get some pics and vids this weekend.

No problem with my intake, Air Grabber but have gone through Moes for all of my stuff so far and am pleased with the service he gives. Glad to hear your exhaust sounds good, I have the 14" Mufflex on order now and can't wait to see how it sounds.

Looking forward to the pics and vid.

Congrats!
Stupid question perhaps, but is the clear S&B cover oriented correctly?

I had no issue with the cover fitment on the S&B, if you bring it to their attention I'm sure they'll ship you a new one.

For what its worth, I had the same issue with the clear cover on the top of mine, I had to squeeze the two pieces together and then thread the bolts in while squeezing, doesn't affect the piece though, just maybe a mold was slightly out of place or something.

You could try leaving All the fasteners finger tight until everything is put together, you be surprised how much things will move!

Mine is so much of a bow that air can get in .......it doesn't seat....

Its definitely the right way....

Will make a call on it tomorrow. Gah the Ram sounds so mean........hard to stay out of the throttle.

Gotta love a sweet CAI especially with a clear top sorry to hear the top bowed though, first I have heard of it.

I have the same problem, since some of my latest mods I drove a tank easy and got way better gas mileage than stock, but after that tank I can't stay out of it. It sounds soooo good.

Awesome!! I'm glad everything is showing some nice performance gains for you. I am going to call S&B about the lid tomorrow as well to see what they say about it. They are a great company to work with, so if there was a minor flaw on a few of the lids, I'm sure it is something that we can get taken care of for you.

My S and B lid has a bow in it too, so I just bought some universal "camper" type foam seal that is sticky on one side and not on the other. Put it on the lid part and trimmed it to fit. Sealed the gaps nicely. Now no air can get in. It's just a flat piece of plexi glass going on a bowed air box, it's probably not going to ever fit perfectly flush. Air intake temps are a couple/few degrees cooler now with the foam on it, so I know it was sucking in hot air especially in town slow driving. I'll put a pic on this in a minute.

If you think about it, a few of the CAI's available for our application have open lids, some of which are supposed to seal to the underside of the hood. I very much doubt they even match the seal your clear lid has to the box.
From an aesthetics viewpoint I get it but its not going to do anything but let more air in...
