87mm TB on stock Power Wagon
First off, pictures are
HERE
Except for this mod, my truck (2012 Power Wagon) is completely stock performance wise. And you have to understand this is a 7k pound truck.
Got home yesterday and found my Moes 87mm throttle body had been delivered. It was securely packaged and also came wrapped in a clear plastic bag, guessing for a moisture barrier.
The install took 12 minutes; from walking out the door to the truck to the time I was walking back in the house. Includes time for taking pictures.
So far I have only driven about 10 miles, half city and half highway. Temperature was around 48 degrees F.
There has been no codes thrown on my truck. On startup there was no difference in idle or warm up characteristics.
Throttle response is slightly better in certain situations (rpm, load etc). Most notably starting from a stop.
As far as power gains, I cannot say for sure. The truck does feel more lively, but that may just be because I was pushing it a little harder trying to get a feeling in the butt dyno. Not sure how readily a 2-3% gain could be felt in a brick on wheels so take it for what it is worth.
All in all, I am satisfied with the new mod. I am sure with more mods this 87mm TB will become more beneficial.
EDIT: I did not do the computer reset after installing. So more gains may be felt as the computer adjusts.
