can i install a mopar subwoofer in a truck that does notbhave the alpine system? if so any advice is appriciated.

You’d have to hook it up to an aftermarket amp. From everything I’ve read you’d be better off with a complete aftermarket system.

under the rear seat? how does it sound?

Yes, mounts with factory seat/brackets. Fits like a glove, 200w amp as well, me, Ive had two and loved them.
Huge upgrade, can install in about 30 minutes, plug and play.
