Thanks guys. But it seems to be coming from the exhaust, as it comes out the passenger side right before the rear tire. This truck has me scratching my head. Changed the oil for the first time yesterday and the oil filter that was on the truck fit but was not what goes on it. Its much smaller. After looking the part number on the filter it would fit older dodge cars. BUT IT FITS. AND WHAT SUPPOSED to go on it wouldn't work as its to big.
The owner's manual does recommend premium (91 octane), but that has more to do with knock caused by unintended secondary combustion at higher compressions and nothing to do with actual horsepower. You can run with regular (87 octane) and have no real issues to speak of, you may notice your engine shake a little more at idle. Run a few bottles of your favorite fuel system cleaner (mine is Amsoil P.i. Performance Improver Gasoline Additive every oil change and BG 44K fuel system cleaner once a year) through your tank, then switch back to regular and see what your results are. If was carbon fouling (valves and/or injectors) then you should see a noticeable improvement running the 87 octane. Just realize that your engine won't feel as "smooth" at idle running regular gas instead of premium.Thank you to all who replied. Truck is running much better I have ran a couple tanks of 91 (premium) threw and it made a huge difference. I guess the truck don't like 87
