Morimoto headlights

I'm super super mad, ordered an entire retrofit kit for the D2S last week and it was the 4.0 and now the 5.0 is released. Didn't have time today but I'm calling TRS tomorrow and sending the 4.0's back. No way I'm keeping them and installing them when I didn't even open them yet and the 5.0's are the same exact price.

I’m honestly not surprised that they didn’t hint at the 5.0 being released. No way would guys pay the normal price for the 4.0 if the 5.0 is gonna be the same price or close to it. Good way for them to clear some of that old inventory. I would just take the little loss and return them if all else fails. Seems all the minor issues they had with the 4.0 was improved on.. not that the 4.0 were bad but still left room for improvement.

I literally posted the same thing almost word for word on a couple Facebook comment sections and a few other threads on here about this lmao. Definitely didn't mention the new 5.0's coming as they wanted to clear out their 4.0 inventory during their big BF/CM sale. Makes sense from a business stand point.

Yeah if it turns into a major loss of money somehow I'll just but the 5.0's with the 10% off promo code (makes them $130) and then sell the 4.0's locally for $100 because I have a ton of extra sets of brand new still in original packaging shrouds; Apollo 3.0 Black, Apollo 2.0 Circles, G37R shrouds and I think some Iris shrouds. But they are all brand new so if I include a pair of them with the D2S 4.0's I should be able to get at least $100 for them. So if it cost me more then $35 to return and exchange them for the 5.0's I'm just going to do that then.

Talked to the light guy I deal with - Prolightz (Gatineau/Ottawa), he said these lights may very well be shipping before Christmas. On Morimoto website they changed to "these lights will be built and shipped out before the end of 2018". The first run of preorders all sold out. The next run will be looking around April shipping.
So we will soon be seeing guys with theses, and hear firsthand feedback. And with all the Rams out on the roads, with only 500 across North America at this first run, it will be very unique. Be prepared to answer questions when your getting gas or stopped. LOL

I'll take that. Better to wait and have a perfect product. Let them learn any hicups they may have had with the F150 lights, a headlight housing is a headlight housing. It's way better for them too, if these lights come out working flawless more possible customers will have another pro to warm up to with them. And current customers will be satisfied as well

I think it was well known.

When the pre-order first went out they only have schematics of the headlights. Then when the first prototype was shown off they even said this was a prototype for testing fitment etc.

It would have been bad practice to hide all of this.

The website from TRS also states they are pre order status and will be available late December from morimoto. Well he got an email today sayin they will be shipping from morimoto next week.

Just makes me wonder if maybe the f250/350 sold more pre orders then ram and so they put us on the back burner and just used some BS excuse like the one above

I am really eager to see these lights, but I also want them to get them right. So I see it the wait means they don't rush them. And the more lights they put out for other applications means the more they learn each time. I don't mind waiting for a perfect product.
But I am excited for these to be released
