I recently put on 20" sport rims with 275/60s and falken wildpeak AT's and i'm down close to 2 mpg I had stock 17"s with 265/70's . But i still love the new look. is it the 20's or the aggressive tread

I would say the added weight . I assume the new tires are 10 ply and the stock are 4 ply. BIG weight difference . And not sure how muck wider the new tires are ! Wheels may also be heavier
My buddy went from a 10 ply AT to a 4 or 6 ply (I think) less aggressive tread and gained about 2 mpg ! Also another thing is you and I are starting to get winter blended gas and that will kill MPG as well
Just ramblings from a old fart

Did you recalibrate the EVIC for the larger wheel?

Those 17" tires were a lower rolling resistance street tire. You will lose fuel economy with the cool looking truck tires.

It can be the winter gas change that just happened, how long ago did you put the wheels on? Now that winter is coming, you can always go up in tire pressure to the upper end of the recommended for that tire, that will help.

About the switch, and yes winter gas lowers mileage across the board.

This typically occurs starting in April, allowing gas stations to start selling the summer blend by May or June. They can then switch back in September

This. If you didn't your speedometer will be out and your shift points will be off.

You will not be getting a clear picture of what your gas mileage really is.

I updated my tire size with an AEV Procal and checked it while driving with a speedometer app on my phone. It is bang on.

Ultimately the bigger and heavier you go the more the fuel mileage will suffer.

Without considering the winter gas formula, the tires would lower the mpg. It's the agressive tread and the weight.

MarshRam is correct you went from a 31.5" diameter to a 32.99" dia.
So your speedometer is off which will give you incorrect gas mileage from evic unless you hand calculated.

There is a 4.4% difference in tire size and that alone could account for 1 mpg. Recalibrating might do more than just correcting the speedo/odo as shift points and fuel delivery might change. Also when tires are new they get their worst mpg and it goes up as the tread goes down.
