New to the Forum and first time Ram owner here... In the past my trucks had Flairs, molded flaps, etc.

Drove my Brand New 2014 home from the dealership all highway - and both sides of the truck was covered wit road splash - HUGE Let Down.

I picked up a set of Molded mud flaps from my local dealer (the ones that rub - according to this thread) and was wondering if anyone had thought about or installed them on top of the stock fender flairs?

The molded mud flaps seems to match the flairs pretty close. Do the factory flairs come off easy & can you reinstall them?

Just looking for something to keep me from washing my truck every other day.

Thank you all for your opinions and experience,

I have the oem moulded and had the rubbing issue so I took it back and they repainted the 4 corners and put some 3m behind them just enough to cover and no issues so far! Best of both worlds

yeah thats what I put on
they look 10x better, but dont do as good of a job as the giant flappy ones, but oh well

Looks aside, I prefer the protection of having them. I look at it this way. With every vehicle I've had over the last 30 years, the ones that I had no flaps on had more chips, rust and scratches then the ones that had the flaps.

I have the Mopar flaps on mine.

Some of it may also depend on where you live though. Here in the north, rock salt gets kicked up and dings paint. Plus, they also tar and gravel lots of side roads around here every few years.

I'm with you man.... I never realized how much dirt gets kicked up. This brutal snow this winter, salt is just getting kicked up everywhere. Do u have a pic of the Mopar flaps? I'm looking at getting some plastic ones instead of rubber ones.

For example... I like something like this picuploadfromtaptalk1391551786191.jpg

I installed the factory rubber ones made for over the flares. They fit really well! Just wish they were a couple inches longer in the rear.
