I'm looking for a deep, aggressive muffler for my 5.9 1500. As of right now it is straight piped. I love the sound but it a "little" loud. I would like something around the same tone. Any suggestions? Also, any thoughts on the flowmaster super 44 or Aero Turbine mufflers? Thanks I would appreciate the help.

Aero Turbine is the ****.

But it will be too quiet for you. FM Super 44 is about the deepest muffler out there, even if it is obnoxious.

magnaflow

I think they have 14", 18" and 24" (I think)

my truck has the stock manifolds, going into a magnaflow high flow cat (with the bigger pipes that attacth at the manifold)

then it goes into (1) 3" single pipe and splits before the rear axle

Its loud, it was the cool thing in high school, but I gradutated in 2006 and Im much older and smarter now, and its time to change

my truck has sat a lot and I don't drive it b/c its obnoxious and it really takes away from the enjoyment of driving a 2nd gen

I think im going to throw a single in/single out magnaflow 18" or 24" on there to tone it down alot

I want a deep rumble, but I hate the way flowmasters sound on these trucks, magnaflow I found (on youtube) has a nice sound without the "raspy, popping noise like glasspacks have)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJOCBq27mXg

this is what im shooting for, maybe even slightly quieter......

too me that's what a dodge truck should sound like

Now, for my 69 charger, im thinking dynomax ultraflow welded or flowmasters (they sound much better on a 440)

Thanks guys. I'm starting to lean towards the super 44. Amy thoughts on Cherry Bomb's chambered mufflers?

Maggys are good for sure.

I've got Dynomax SuperTurbos on my 76 because they sounded great on a 70 Challenger R/T 440.....I have much more exhaust so they're much more tame. haha

I honestly haven't heard much about CB's chambered mufflers other than the Extreme. You might look at the Vortex, which is not chambered, but still plenty loud.

Here is my Thrush Turbo after having been broken in finally

Not a fan of Flowmaster. I don't like listening to a muffler rattle like a tin can. That's why I like Magnaflow. I'm looking at a 14" in the future.

I've got a magnaflow something. I forgot what it is. Single out with all 3 inch tubing on stock manifolds. Comes to a turndown right after the axle and it sounds pretty damn good. If I can figure out how to get a clip of it I'll upload it for you. I'll find my paperwork for the muffler too.

I have cherry bomb extremes and the way I ran my configuration (dump before the axle) I didn't notice a big difference in volume between straight pipe and extreme however it effected the sound a good bit, much more refined. Honestly if it had tail pipes it would sound better but I'm too lazy to weld them back on lol

I have a high-flow no-name brand catalytic converter going to a single downpipe with a Turbo Thrush muffler. The note sounds stock, but is a bit louder. Personally, I love it. Sounds proper torquey and muscly.

Here's mine with a FM Super 44, Flowmaster high flow cat and 2.5 inch piping. Fake dials.

Usually louder depending on configuration.
Thanks guys.

3030XL is the resonated version, so it's quieter at cruise.

Better watch yourself. I know your first and last name. And approximately where you live. And what you look like. And when I win the lottery I'll be able to afford the gas to come over there and kick your ass.
Or should I just let your transmission do it for me?
