This is a long story do I will compress it.
Rebuilt motor, MMX +30 NSR NTR cam. Hemifever tune. Mufflex 24”.
Caused severe resonance.
Little to no resonance before the new cam. It all started when I was testing the new tune, remote testing.
Put stock muffler on, still hurt my ears but they were and still are sensitive to whatever happened to them, so put the Diablo 87 tune back on it. Now the Diablo 87 tune with stock exhaust hurts my ears and makes them ring. ( been a year + )

Normal train of thought. Bigger muffler case is bettter. I recently grabbed a used 14” Total flow straight through oval for cheap and put it on. After two days is has to come out. Since it’s the low frequencies bugging me, I was hoping the 14” case would change the hz higher, but it went lower and wider.
I read that people have good luck with 6” round mufflers in regards to cabin noise.
Maybe round reflects sound waves in a smoother pattern than oval even though oval has more sound deadening material in it. ?
I have read pretty much everything including drone occurs when you have a muffler that has two exit points within the muffler?
Stainless can ring more than aluminized steel piping?
Have the dual exhaust tips further out from the bumper. ( I have a big horn edition 2011 )
I was going to try the Ultra flow 6” with a y after it, but since I live where I live the shop wanted 4-500 to put it in after I supplied the muffler and y pipe. lol

I have been thinking of the factory muffler with a j -pipe, and delete the factory resonators as they are probably not tuned right anymore, or add better ones.

Also still the Ultra flow 17223 6”, and if it’s too loud add a Vibrant resonator before muffler.

It would sure be nice to be able to use the Hemifever tune at some point again.

Things were so much easier with my 1969 F100, cammed 302, great sounding and never droned.

If you want to lose the drone you will have to go bigger than a 14" Muffler.

I an not sure why your 24" Mufflex would drone. I have never had a Mufflex muffler.

I have a single exhaust and had everything cut off just before the stock muffler.

I added a single 18" Flo Pro Max and it doesn't drone. It is not crazy loud either but louder than stock.

I had them shoot the tailpipe towards the rear bumper with a downturn instead of the donkey **** out behind the rear tire so it is all hidden.

They make a 22" version as well.

When I had mine done the exhaust shop was awesome and slid a few mufflers on it with it running so I could hear them. Find a shop that will do that for you.

Interesting, thanks for the response.
Ironically my old F100 had dual Flo Pros on it, but that was a long time ago. Before the cam, the Mufflex 24” would only drone when pulling the boat up hills at 50mph. I’m sure the stainless steel pipes are part of the problem, when you knock your knuckles against it, it rings like crazy, so does the factory muffler. The shops don’t have much inventory here but yes that is a good idea.

Try wrapping the exhaust system with header wrap

@Wild one is right, wrapping the exhaust pipe, especially the 2' before the muffler, with header wrap will help with the drone if not eliminate it so you can't hear it in the cab anymore. This is an old trick that we use to get rid of the resonance inside the pipe.

I had my headers wrapped and both pipes to the mufflers wrapped to keep as much heat in the pipes as possible, then used the mufflers as a poor mans expansion chamber, but it also cut down on the drone alot.
Not sure how much benefit there was to using the mufflers as an expansion chamber, but i always figured it didn't hurt either ;)
Wrapping the exhaust to cut down on pipe resonance is one of those old school tricks that still works, whether it'll cut his drone down to where it's livable for his ears,is a question that can only be answered if he spends the time to wrap his exhaust system

How thick of layers? I wonder if it will aid in corrosion of the pipe?

If you have lots of patience you could double wrap the exhaust. This was my JBA midpipe after being double wrapped for about 5 years, and i'm what you might call a bit a n a l when it comes to washing the undersides of my vehicles,so the wrap got soaked at least once or twice a week, lol.
Not even any surface rust .

My JBA long tubes went on the truck in the spring of 2015,they were double wrapped, and when i sold the truck awhile ago they were still in pretty decent shape,i figured they still had at least another 7 or 8 years left in them, before they'd need replacing. Double wrapping them also meant i never had the common issue with the steering shaft cooking itself to death, which is a pretty common problem on the trucks with long tubes. I did have JBA ceramic coat them which might have helped with keeping them in decent shape with the wrap.
I did the same thing with the long tubes on the wifes 1320,had them ceramic coated before wrapping them.
