Mufflex installed and resonator deleted

All I can say is wow! The mufflex magnaflow wasn’t bad. Not too loud but not loud enough. So after a few months I decided to sawzall the resonator off. Now I know why they put those things on there.
So, now my question is this.. has anyone tried to put a resonator before the muffler? In the diesel world you place the resonator as close to the downpipe as possible to eliminate drone.
A flopro twister worked wonders on the 6.7. If placed after the y pipe on the hemi, Would it clean up the resonance? I am about to try it

What engine do you have 5.7L or 6.4L?

On 6.7L diesel trucks everything before the muffler is emissions. No resonator. I had a 2010 6.7L cummins 4" straight pipe tbe and never had any drone. Both 5.9L cummins I owned were 5" straight pipe tbe (I miss those truck's) and never had any drone or not enough that I can recall.
The 2015 6.4L I ran the mufflex exhaust and no resonator and had minimal drone. On my 18 6.4L I installed a borla xr-1 6" round muffler with no resonator. This set up I do get quite a bit of drone. Sounds great but drives me nuts. When I get a decent day I want to try and put the resonator back on and see if that changes anything. If not I'll have to find something different

Mine is a 2019 6.4. When I let the 6.7 breathe, I installed the twister resonator and it “helped” the drone level. I’m working on getting the tailpipe out behind the tire in the factory location and not dumped over the axle. I think that has a lot to do with it also.

I used the tail pipe section off of my 2018 and the 2015 I had to make a new tail pipe. And the drone was horrible with my current set up. I was hoping that it would push the sound further back but it didn't. So I cut it back off. I didn't notice any drone with the mufflex and no resonator. Maybe my tires drowned out enough of it that I can didn't notice.

I bought the magnaflow version. Sounds amazing. Really deep tone. I still have the resonator but I've been debating on getting rid of the resonator and dumping under the bed.

Yep I have the magnaflow version as well. I felt the same as you and chopped the res off. I bought a piece of aluminized exhaust pipe to get it below the spare tire but I haven’t had the time and or decent weather to fab that up.

It’s loud. My 5yr old son loves it haha my wife, eh, not so much being she has only heard it cold start in the morning before work. I think it sounds mean as hell.

I still might try the flo pro twister out just for the heck of it. I watched a vid of a 6.2 Ford with one installed right before the muffler and the owner seemed to have liked the results. 70 bucks and some time.

Update! Do not put a flo pro twister before the mufflex magnaflow!! Haha it’s horrible. Did the exact opposite of what I hoped.

So I have an annoying leak at the where the resonator pipe joins the muffler kit. Cant get it to seal so I may cut it and dump it under the bed.

I got rid of mine with a 50HD, no "Regrats"

PCT did you keep your resonator? Did the 50HD give you any drone issues?
