I’ve got a 1994 Ram 2500 and the lights work, battery is good, and starter is new. Recently it hasn’t started at all, won’t even turn over. After tapping the starter it began to make a loud noise that shook things whenever I tried to turn it over, it still is not starting. Any advice?

Sounds like you may have got a defective starter. Or it might be flywheel or flexplate issues .
If you could get a recording of it when trying to start ,it could help to determine the problem.

I recently went through this with a different truck. I replaced pretty much everything in the starting circuit, still nothing.

Turned out to be a bad starter lead, LOL. I had reused the old one because it looked fine and, at the time, was feeling too lazy to cut it off from relay hot. Boy, did I feel dumb! After spending $200 for parts and taking three weeks screwing with everything, it turned out I could've fixed the works for about $2 and fifteen minutes.

So, yeah, learn from my pain, start with the simple and cheap stuff first!
