I recently upgraded my radio from the RA1 to the RA3 with Navigation. Everything works, except for the navigation. It shows my location and roads just fine when looking at the map, but when I activate a route, the location of the truck get progressively worse over time. It moves the map off of where I am actually driving, thinking Im driving off road until it encounters another road and re-routes me. Anyone has guidance for this?

You need to update the unit to software version 18.45.01

I don't have the link handy right now but there is a long thread on this forum with how to do it and links to the software.

Stupid question, but do you have the navigation antenna?

Stupid answer...not sure? I have the puck on the roof for Sirius radio, and there was the GPS plug available.

I know it was a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately I don't have the VIN
Chrisbh17 is 100% correct. There is no (navigation antenna) the navigation is run through your XM antenna. The puck will work fine. Your radio most likely needs to be updated to the 18.45.01 firmware and it should be fine.

I think 2017 is enough info. You can grab the software from the other thread and try to update the unit. The 18.45.01 software is not unique per model year, so you just need the RA3 version of the file.

If you are currently on a 16.x version you will need to go to 17.x first, but being so new Im guessing its already on 17.something.

Finally got a chance to use the navigation after updating the radio. I was on 16.23.21. Went straight to 18.45.01 version without a hitch. Took forever though! Navigation location works spot on now. Thanks again for the update suggestions
