In had the navigation installed on my truck. It seems that every time I restart the nav the voice prompt volume defaults back to its original volume of 12. If I lower it down to say 5 the next time I use the nav it will return to the level of 12meaning every time i use it I need to go into the menu and lower the volume. Am I missing a save option somewhere?

I've found out that after you change a setting you need to push back instead of the X to close the menu.
I changed a couple settings one time and then X'd out of the menu and they didn't save. Went back and hit the back arrow and they saved.

I believe I've tried it both ways but I'll check again and see if it works.

Hey LouRusso.
I have a 13 Sport 1500 that came with the nav installed, I was noticing the same thing with some of my other settings, and I found '<--'-ing out of the page worked vs 'x'-ing out..
On a somewhat similar note, I'm trying to do some research for a buddy, to see how much other people are paying to get the simple Nav update for the 8.4a stereos.. He was quoted around $500, which seems to be expensive since he has the screen already, and it's only software that he's missing. I just finished installing a backup camera via this forum, and the simple software update required to wake up the camera only cost me $57. I don't see how it would cost that much more to wake up the navigation system in the truck..
Can you shed some light on this??

Thanks,
C.J.

While nav voice is talking you can turn it up/down with the volume knob but only when its talking.

I have grid it that we as well and it still doesn't save.
The nav is $500. I know it's just a matter of loading the software but that's how it is now a days. From what I've heard all the vehicles have remote start it just a matter of the dealer enabling it.

Work a deal out with the dealer or find one that will everything can be negotiated if they want to make a sale bad enough.
