I currently have a MagnaFlow D-Fit Series performance exhaust muffler delete kit(SKU 19440) installed on my 2022 Ram 1500 Classic...
It sounds amazing, but is obnoxiously loud outside and inside the cab and especially on cold starts.

I recently bought a travel trailer and when I'm towing, the truck is always in a lower gear and working, so the exhaust it just screaming...

Can anyone suggest a performance muffler replacement that still sounds good, but isn't obnoxiously loud inside the cab?

I was considering the Carven Progressive Series(SKU - CR1004), MagnaFlow D-Fit Seriers Muffler(SKU - 19439), or Flowmaster FX Direct Fit muffler(SKU - 717835)...

I still want the nice Hemi sound, but without destroying everyone's hearing, including my own.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I had the Flowmaster FX installed and it sounds amazing on startup, idle and when you get on it accelerating. At typical highway cruising, it is quiet like the factory, but with a pleasant burble. I believe it is very similar to the MagnaFlow D-Fit, you referenced. Hope this helps.

Pypes violator kit for our trucks had the least amount of drone out of the 10 or so mufflers I've tried. Gibson mwa gives a good tone while being loud and keeping drone down

I highly recommend to not do the Carven, its just an open can with no real sound deadening so it wont be much quieter than a delete. The Magnaflow is a great choice. If you want something even quieter the Solo Performance Mach 40 is a great choice for not being too loud while towing.

Message me if you would like a quote on anything or more info. We would be happy to help!

Just a borla pro XS is prob the best sounding, quietest, zero drone. I had that - sounds awesome. It was a bit quiet so I switched to the Atak with an x-pipe and stock resonators. Sounds incredible. Atak is a bit louder, still not too loud, and the x-pipe gives it a raspy scream. Awesome combo. .

This is what I did, but it ain't exactly noise friendly...lol

The stereo also drowns out any interior cabin noise as well ;)

Custom mandrel bent y-pipe
High flow cats (200 cell count per sq/in) - with extenders
14" Magnaflow performance muffler
Resonators deleted
5" dual tips

Sounds really sweet when she's at full operating temps and smashing WOT through the gears!!!

Sounds even better on a cold start up (my neighbors love me currently...lol)

MBRP pro cat backs cost less ,made in Canada(Huntsville ONT.) ,and sound good as well, made from t304stainless,lifetime warranty and can be easily compared to the units mentioned in this topic.
Not that you are looking for anything that costs less (no import duties to BC)than the others(they also cost less in the USA as compared to those mentioned,as well) but they also sound good(comparitively) for alot less. They are well made.As you know everyones opinions are subjective. It is a good question you have asked as most people love the sound of their hemi, with aftermarket cat backs, whichever ones they've picked...They all sound good.

I used to "love" one of my neighbors for a similar reason, his was 5.0 F150 though. It was a good sounding truck but most of the neighbors around him knew when he was going out or coming home. Once he bought his diesel, I told him no one knows if he's coming or going now. He said he really didn't think about the neighbors. I never said anything to him cause he's a nice guy and wasn't obnoxious with the truck.

I replaced the stock muffler with a BORLA 40349 ProXS muffler. I don't think it did much for performance, but it does sound nice. I'm not a fan of exhaust drone. This muffler doesn't have any. The truck rumbles louder on startup, but it quiets down immediately. It's not loud while towing unless you're gunning it.

I hear that, and truth be told, I don't do it to be a d_ou-ch_e purposefully, I just like a good sounding HEMI V8 :)

I am tight with all my neighbors and respect them all very much, as they do me.

Now that I've gone to HF-cats my truck is even louder on cold start ups, so I don't warm up my truck anymore, I just get in and go after about 45 to 60 seconds, especially that I leave to work at about 5:30am.

I also barely touch the throttle until I'm down the road, and even then, it's a light acceleration until I'm on open roads out of the neighborhood.

I do feel for them though as the winter is going to be next level, but I do treat my neighbors to drinks often, so I've bought some "tolerance credits" with them ;)

I have MPI exhaust on my truck (6.4). I have the turbo series which sounds good, no drone, even when towing.

is that so? please elaborate!
MDS when it is activated transmits an annoying sound that you normally may not hear on stock exhaust.Being that cat backs either/or performance exhaust(of any type) creates louder exhaust notes it amplifies exhaust sound, and most people love the sound of the hemi.I put cat backs on just for that reason. They do not really do anything for performance.MDS makes a droning noise that is not enjoyable, and a louder exhaust, makes it noticable ,in the cabin, when MDS kicks in and during it's cycle of deactivation of 4 cylinders. Most people prefer none of that noise amplified, when driving and it is obvious when the MDS cuts in and out, with cat backs or other exhaust enhancements. It does not affect my mileage either as I get 11.3 liters per 100kms without it on the turnpike.
