Ok,

At the end of the season my amp went out. So I just added a new amp and subs and nothing...no sound? The headunit is a Kenwood 516 that is about 2 years old. All the wiring is good, power to everything, sub is turned on ..on the head unit, amp has power but, no sound? Could the RCA cables be bad?

That would be the first thing I would check. If the rca cable are good then its not too uncommon for the rca jacks to go out. Had a Kenwood that did the same thing. Trouble shooter for HOURS!!! and then replaced the head unit. Problem solved lol, I had that unit for 3 yrs so it didn't bother me to replace it.

this might sound crazy, but did you check the speaker wire connections at the sub? I once though a sub was going bad and when i took it out i found that the connectors were loose and almost falling off. When i tightened them it sounded great again. Maybe one fell off?

amp may have power, but does have to get signal...without running all new RCA's, get some, pull HU out and run then from HU across seats to the amp, see if its them. If not, pull speaker wires from amp, hook up speakers to known good wokring source, make sure its not a speaker. If amp and speakers work, the HU is the issue.
