Like the title says, I have read many times of a spot on the firewall near the pedals to run wires out, an unused rubber grommet but I am just not seeing it. Can someone post a pic or tell me of any other locations?

I have a 2012 regular cab if that helps with locations

Where the wire harness comes out thru the rubber boot nesx to the brake booster, feel underneath the wires, there's a rubber nipple that sticks out, hard to see from up top

Can you circle or point to where I should be looking?

Thank you for your help.

I was not able to use that grommet with the nipple even though it is there for running wires out of the cab. I tried for no joke, a couple hours to fish some wires for my backup cam and I gave up.

I would recommend using the clutch pedal block off plate instead. Drill a hole through it, put a grommet in it and black silicone it all for water proofing. I believe JB1 used this plate to run wires for his lights, I will try to find the thread.

One nice thing about this plate is if you ever want to return everything back to factory, just get a new plate. I have a run of 0ga, 8ga and the backup cam wires running through mine.

G-Ride990 got it
Happened to be sitting here on my computer the moment OnSale posted the pics haha.

Have you tried to fish wires through that nipple in the wire boot? I was able to get a screw driver through it but no matter how I tried to attach wires to it and pull it through, couldn't get anything to get through it.

Yeah - I did. Took me quite a bit though, wasn't easy. I actually ended up stripping a length of house wire and fished it thru first, then pulled the rest thru. It was a royal pain

I cut a 2” slit, on the inside and outside, used a metal hanger to poke thru, used duct tape to tape wires to hanger; pulled back out. Wasn’t as easy as it sounded but it worked. I’m gonna use some silicone when I’m all done to reseal it.

Yea I ripped my nail up and it’s bleeding now

Oh cool, yea I’m down by Neshamjny sometimes. I am mostly in Newtown, Longhorne, Oxford Valley and NJ. I do venture down to NE from time to time tho.

Sounds funny but KY is your best friend here. Water based, won't attack rubber products and will wash away or just dry up after a short time. Used it alot (or generic similar) doing car audio installs.

Those seem like your just asking for trouble during rain and electric storms, or near high frequency sites.

But I got it all hooked up, wires ran, backup cam works and for $28 it looks really good.

** After this picture was taken I adjusted the angle of the camera and it is pointed more up now and looks a lot better.

OnSale what head unit is that? It looks great.

I ran amplifier power wire through that rubber nipple area - it was NOT easy. I ended up duct taping the wire to a small screwdriver, started pushing it through the small slit that I made and then had to grab the screwdriver from the inside of the cab with a pair of pliers and pull until it finally came through.

When I ran wires to the back of my truck I went thru a rubber grommet under the driver seat on the floor. Why run wires forward into engine compartment just to go back again.

I used the instructions from this guy to install my camera. channel name is Briansmobile1. I ditched the nipple and drilled a hole in the black plastic plate next to brake booster. the plate is for a clutch booster. Put a gromitt in the hole and sealer and call it a day.

I have a 2012 crew cab, i can't remember if there was a hole behind the rear seat on the floor or I drilled one. I wanted to get into the cab ASAP, then ran under the carpet.
