I'm thinking about getting a tailgate light bar and have seen some bad reviews for Recon, Anzo, Plasmaglow and especially Rampage.
Has anyone found a light bar that's decent, yet reasonably priced?

Not really a fan. Rarely do I see one that lasts. When they go out here and there, they look a little trashy IMHO.

I ran a Recon White Lightning bar for 3 years with no problems. It started shorting out which I think had to do with the heavy corrosion on the plug. Went to unplug it to clean the corrosion and the connectors broke off in the truck's plug. I would run one again though.

I've got 3 of the red LEDs on the passenger side that have started flickering lately on my 60" recon white lightning, I should have made sure to silicone everything up a little better when I installed. Other than that I love the bar, no other problems

I have the Recon Line of Fire. going on to 3 yrs with no issues. I took precautions before install. I put some marine grade caulk on all the seams and ends to keep it sealed from water and Dielectric compound on the plug. Still like new.

I wish the 4-pin plug was still underneath.
I have one sitting in the garage just because I don't want to plug it in outside of the bumper.

They make a plug that goes into he back of the 7 pin behind the bumper and gives you another 4 pin off it. I'm not sure who sells it. One of the vendors on here. He might chime in.

Wish I got that harness. I spliced mine to the back of the 7 way.

I'm guessing that splitter would work if you only wanted to hook into reverse lights? Sorry if dumb question. Was about to splice into the connector, but this would be a lot cleaner/easier.

I used this harness and it is a much cleaner install. The reverse lights I did have to splice into BUT the purple wire on the harness (if I remember the color correctly) is a revers light so no splicing into OEM wires, just that same harness. With that all said I have to tell you folks how disappointed I am with my IPCW tailgate light kit. I chose IPCW because it had the most positive reviews from Ram owners (they all look very similar if not identical). Now some of the LEDs are fading leaving a variety different brightnesses along the bar. Not acceptable IMO. Here is a picture so you can see how bad they are really. It only lasted 3 months and now no response from the Manufacturer. Not happy at all and I intend on removing this POS because it looks so cheap on my truck. My advice is DO NOT BUY IPCW products!

I have one that was a 3m tape peel and stick on. Can't remember what brand but it was a roll not a bar and it's starting to peel off on the side the wires come off 4 months old. Stat away from this type.

If it makes you feel better, it could be MUCH worse. :D
