I have a 2018 Bighorn. Right now, because of my commute, I only drive it on weekends. I picked up a commuter car and I 'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I should be treating my Ram? To my thinking, it almost amounts to short term storage. I can't be the only one who does this so I 'm for feedback on what others do for their trucks. Covers, trickle charger for battery etc.

Unless it is sitting 6 months at a time, I would not do anything except buy non ethanol gas.

Before I started driving my ram daily. I split my time between the motorcycle and a commuter car, ram sat in the garage, at one time, 3 months without driving.

Slow to start once I started it but no worries once started. Tires had flat spots that went away once warm.

Now, since I drive it daily, it rarely gets time to cool off before I'm in it again.

If you live in a salted environment (NE) you may want to consider other prep. I have my truck Krowned so I don't deal with that.

My opinion, which along with $3.50 might get you a tall (small) coffee at Starbucks.

PS, my Ram is a 2011 4x4 Sport Crew Cab, 6 speed, 3.55s with 121k

Yeah, you needn't do anything if you only drive the truck only weekends.

Exactly what others have said. When I had my my 2008 with bigger tires etc I was getting HORRENDOUS mileage. Bought a commuter and all was good again lol.

I did as stated. Ran non ethanol gas which is 91 in my area.

Drive it once every couple weeks to keep flat spots at bay and battery charged and things moving. Sitting for TOO long is bad, however, a little drive here and there will keep things lubed and in sync.

Keep up with service and oil changes as you normally would based on years not mileage now.

Tiped on ifone using Tapatalk and auto correct. Can’t you tell?
