What constitutes "bolt-on" for the record? Just curious since you have a TC and gear swap.

I went down in gear, not gearing up like most. That would not be considered a gear swap in my advantage. And TC is considered among others to be a bolt on. Matt had a 3400 stall and had the 12.49 bolt on record. Even still the truck ran a 7.83 1/8th with stock 3.92's and stock stall and only ran a 7.87 on this 12.42. If i would have been on a 1/4 mile track on that 7.83 run, it would have been easy 12.30's

I always thought bolt on was when you didn't break into the motor. I.E. no cam swap or no heads swap

That's the only consensus I can find on the Google box. TC or gears seem like just as much work as cams on some motors though. I'm never going to the track so it doesn't matter to me. I was just curious where the line is.

Crew cab laramie 4x4s weren't meant to go to the track lol. I do appreciate some good seat of the pants gains from gears, Tuner, and exhaust though lol. My expensive hobby is going slow over rocks in my Nissans.

IMHO----For most of us, drag racing is NOT a spectator sport. As has been said, it's really easy to get addicted.
