Maybe a stupid question, so forgive.

Lifting the Ram up to the 7 inches, how does something like that effect MPG?
Or does is if the rim rotation is still the same.

Sorry Base, didn't realize you had asked this question... When you lift a truck it's not the lift kit that will change your MPG. It's when you install larger tires that will affect mileage. Larger tires weigh more therefore more rotational mass. Truck will have to work harder to turn the larger tires and that is what affects MPG. Every truck will be slightly different depending on how you drive, what size tires you end up running, the width of the tires, also wheels can play a role as well and other factors. Most people that run 35" - 37" tires can probably agree they lost anywhere from 2-4 MPG but I could be wrong. Can anybody chime in with their set up and what kind of mileage they are getting after installing their lift kit, wheels and tires?

I have the 7" lift and am running 37's on 17" rims. the best my average has ever got to is 13.5 that was coming down from bear mountain
My average is about 11 city. I don't drive high way enough to estimate highway mpg.

Thanks Yodge for your input, much appreciated. Are you running any kind of tuner or anything to calibrate your speedo to offset for the larger tires? If not you actually may be getting a lower MPG reading than what it actually is. Do you happen to remember what you were averaging when your truck had stock tires on it?

I do not have a tuner currently nor have I had the truck re geared. I have done nothing to accommodate the big tires due to the fact that they are temporary. I believe I was averaging 14 city and the highest I got on highway was 16.5. This again is probably low because the most freeway driving I do is 40 miles or longer trips are about 100 miles. Not a lot to get my average up. I will be putting 33" back on shortly

Thank you for the explanation.

The Maxtrac spindles should fit the 2014 2WD right?

yes as far as we have seen or heard (without physically bringing a 2014 in and testing it) everything works just like a '13. Just as long as you don't have air ride suspension on the front or rear you should be good to go!

Unfortunately, we have not tested our kits on the 2014 model to make sure everything fits the same as the 09-13 models. Dodge started to make changes on their truck suspension mid way through 2013 which did not affect the 1500 2wd trucks but we have to test one first before we can give the full go ahead. Now they are starting to offer air ride on 1500's and different engines so we need to make sure coil rates are the same and what suspension options are coming on the 14's. .As soon as we do, I will go ahead and let you know! thank you!

Did we ever get a green light on fitting a 2014 2WD?

As far as I have heard and seen, the 2014 seems to be the same as the 2013 and below. So everything should fit just fine. I have not had a shop or customer call us and say the parts did not fit a 2014. You should be good to go! I answered your PM by the way too brother. Thanks!

There are different kits offered with different options, best bet is to just message Maxtrac or suspension specialists and they'll get you setup with what you need.

Finally getting my truck fixed, getting limit straps put on to keep the upper control arms from contacting the shock bucket.
