Next phase of the truck build is complete. After cutting the coils again last week, the frame was hitting the top of the rear upper control arms when the suspension would bottom out. We cut the stock mounts off, and welded new 4 link brackets onto the axle. Control arm angles and pinion angle are much better now. While we were under there, we went ahead and welded in a driveshaft loop in case the driveshaft or u joints doesn't want to play nice with a hefty shot of nitrous off the line. I have more goodies lined up for next week, so I will update again as soon as the new parts go in.

Most tracks require vehicles with slicks to have a driveshaft loop installed. When you get traction in a powerful car, it puts a lot of stress on the u joints and driveshaft. If the front u joint gives out, then the driveshaft will drop, and can dig into the track and flip you over. Having a driveshaft loop installed will make the driveshaft spin inside the loop without ever touching the ground. It is safer for you as the driver, and will prevent any damage to the track.

I have been very fortunate that no parts have broken on me yet, but with the new big slicks and nitrous, I think its only a matter of time before we start finding the weak links. I just want to be prepared.

I like it. Its just for me to get around town with because the truck is just too unbearably loud without it. I also have a 3.5" Magnaflow high flow cat in front of the muffler to help keep the noise down. Once I get to the track, everything behind the Y-pipe gets unclamped and removed.

Looks good! I like seeing shots under the truck. Its cool how the brake rotors bolt on. Does it ride any different with the arms rearranged?

Suspension looks good! Did you guys measure everything out and calculate where your IC is to know if you have any anti-squat so it'll plant the tires better?

I've got everything to do a loop as well, just need to actually do it. I wish someone would build/sell a bolt-in kit for our trucks. *hint hint*

We didn't measure IC, but the truck already feels as if it plants and goes much better. Now, I did just finish installing the double adjustable QA1's out back as well, so I'm sure that has something to do with it as well. Weight is transferring very nice so far in the few miles I have put on it on the street. I will be heading back to the track after my next round of mods to do some testing and try to dial in the suspension.

Lol! I take really good care of my stuff... not to mention I live in a climate that is sooooo gentle on vehicles. Plus, (this might sound ***) I waxed it to remove some scuffs and clean it up, before I packed it. :roflsquared:
