hi everyone, just bought my first dodge ram, its a 1500 with a 5.7, existing mods are limited to a magna flow exhaust system (i think its a complete system), and a drop in k&n filter.
weird thing about this truck, the build sheet show it as a ST that came with vinyl floor and steel wheels. I have carpet and stock aluminum 17"s. Other thing that i didnt notice until i bought it was it doesnt have remote for locks. the other thing is that the hood has the two intake holes, not sure that should be on a ST though.
first thing to do is tires, i dont want to lift it so i think i will stay stock, maybe a little taller but i dont like the choice of tires in some of the other tire sizes that should fit mainly because i want a six ply, (or load range 'c') as opposed to 4 ply or ten plys.
next thing would be a tuner, doesnt have to be too extreme, just something that allows me to adjust for tire size if i go up a little bit and to compensate for exhaust/air filter upgrades. looked at the diablo sport trinity but that seems a little overkill for me. next thing may be to see if i can add a fob for power locks, maybe just get a remote starter that handles that as well though.
anyway, look forward to learning all the lingo and talking to you guys in the future.
