I'm putting a level kit on my truck. [2003 1500 2x4] Right now as it is it measures 7 inches in the back and 3 inches in the front(with original shocks up front and 130k miles). Obviously getting new shocks, I've heard good things about Billsteen 5100 shocks. Are those 2 inches longer than OE?
Well my real question is should I do a 3" coil spring or 2.5" spacer?

Bilsteens come in varying lengths. Do a bit of research before buying and you can find just what you will need.

What length of shock will work well with a 2.5 - 3 inch lift?

You can buy shocks for your vehicle that are longer for a lift/level.

Shock Absorbers

A coil spring level will ride better than a spacer level.

How much longer of a shock would I want with a 3 inch coil spring lift?

I believe I read that 3/4 ton shocks could be used with a front level on half ton trucks.

So you know that if you run B 5100's you don't need a level right? you can go up to just under 3 inches level just with the shocks. They are right height adjustable, so they could be as long as OE or longer up to around 2 and 3/4's,

See that's what I wanted to know. I already ordered the 3" lift coil springs, so too late. With 130k on the truck I wouldn't mind replacing the spring isolators, springs, and shocks.

Mods, why did my thread get moved? I purposely put it in General Discussion because this sub section is dead...

I would like to know this as well. I have an HBS 2.5" level coming in soon. I have a 2007 QC 4x4, would the same year 2500 shocks work front and back?

Sorry if it seems that I am thread jacking I just think that I have the same question as you.

Your question is basically the same thing as mine so we both need answers!
