Welcome to the club sir. Good looking rig there. I was very close to getting that color, but ultimately went with white as it was the only one I could find with everything I wanted.

Funny you say that because I spend more time vacationing outside of Canada. It's expensive for Canadians to travel in our own GD country. I've got a driving trip to Newfoundland and PEI on my bucket list though.
You are SO correct. Things get quite expensive just as soon as we cross the border. We cringe at the cost of everything from fuel to wine. Even more so in NL.
We own a tiny cottage in a small fishing village. We can throw a rock into the ocean from our bridge. ( Newfie talk for deck) No way we could afford that kind of real estate in Maine or anywhere on the East coast. The people and all our friends are what has kept us coming back to NL for 20 years.
When you go to NL reach out to me if you need any information or travel advice. The Newfie ways have rubbed off on us and we always invite complete strangers to stop by for a visit.
You are welcome to look us up when you go.

Welcome to the site, Great looking truck, same boat as you I live in upstate NY and my truck won't see any of this seasonings of the roads they use rock salt, Magnesium Chloride in the spray form for the extreme cold we get here.
Thanks for the welcome. I hear you on the way they treat the roads in the winter. Looks like the virus might keep us home this winter. If that is the case the RAM will be put into storage.
Hopefully we will figure out a way to escape Newyorkistan though.

SWMBO was instrumental on the color choices. I was very pleasantly surprised with the canyon beige interior and the exterior combination. I knew I would never find a RAM exactly as I wanted it. And, being the first vehicle I have ever purchased new I was determined to have it exactly as I wanted. Every dealership I visited insisted they would "locate" a vehicle for me. I said "good luck". When the same dealerships failed to locate a truck they had no interest in ordering a truck for me. They tried every ploy in the book to get me to buy an already made truck.
I finally located a VERY tiny dealership that was willing to order a truck built as I wanted it.

Thanks for the heads up. No problems yet. Maybe because I do use it when on inclines. One thing I always have avoided with any vehicle has been leaving it sit on hills with pressure on the transmission parking pawl. Also, the truck has never seen a North East winter.
I saw your location, I know exactly where you are. I am south East of you not far from the VT border.

Never seeing a winter is what's saved it so far. I used the P-brake about weekly on my 2017 and the mechanisms still rusted up on me due to corrosion. You'll know it's starting to happen when you see slack in the P-brake cable that runs along the frame on the driver's side. Again, if it doesn't see winter roads, you'll be good for longer, but not forever due to the lack design and lack of lube from the factory.

LOL, I was thinking of you just today. I was changing the oil in the RAM. Was on my back and right there above me was the E-brake cable. I looked it over quickly . Didn't look like there is a way to easily lubricate it. I will check it out more closely sometime.

Ohhhh, give it a couple of months, lol

I'm on LI and yes, we call anything North of Westchester "upstate"...

Welcome
Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I had a diving business some years ago and had quite a few clients from "down State" . I always gave them a hard time when they said they lived Upstate.

Definitely. Sounds like you've already adopted the Newfie way of life. A very welcoming community.

Welcome to the forum it’s good see someone else from the area that will know about the Tri-State area.
Thank you for the welcome,
Hopefully you relatively local folks will be able to assist me with some information I will be seeking on service. A sword that cuts both ways so to speak.
But that is a topic I will reserve for a different thread.
