Hi,
My name is Seb and I'm from England.
Ive already posted very similar questions in the 3rd Gen section, however I think I might buy a 2012 4th Gen, so thought I should ask the questions here really.

Dodge Rams are fairly rare here so I wanted to get some advice and help.
I've never owned an American vehicle or even a pick-up truck, mainly had cars, motorbikes and vans.

I'm now on the lookout for a 4th Gen Dodge Ram QC/CC, ideally I want a 5.7 Hemi because I prefer driving petrol rather than diesel. I might tow once in a blue moon, but it won't be often.

Here is one that I have seen that I am looking to buy...I prefer the sport look but this is a Laramie Longhorn.

I saw a sport for sale a couple weeks ago but unfortunately its sold. I think it would be an ideal set up for me.

So how would I get this ride height (2inch level)?

Where can I get these fender flares and would they be an easy fit?

What size tyre/wheel would these be?

What is the process of getting rid of all the chrome, I'd prefer it black like the truck?

How easy is the suspension setup to install?

Where would I find a used/2nd hand set of wheels, I may have to ship them to England?

Sorry for all the questions but lifted/levelled pick-ups are rare in England, and Dodge Rams are even rarer.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Those are definitely Fuel Hostage since that is what I have on my truck. The tire size almost looks like 35's to me. I just looked at pictures of my truck since I have 35's and it looks somewhat similar...I'm just not 100% sure.

The fender flares appear to be bushwacker but they could be another brand, either way they'd be called "pocket style fender flares." They are super easy to install, it's just putting on some weather sealant and then bolting them on. Just search for them on google and a few brands should show up.

As you showed, that is a sport since it has color matching grill and everything else. I have the Express as Cableguy mentioned above. It is not as fancy, meaning it has front bench seats, cloth interior, no cover over the top glove box opening, and other things. The sport is a more luxurious model and has more options.

In terms of the lift, you could do a leveling kit. I'm not sure how easy they are to install since I had a 4" lift professionally installed.

The only other thing I'd mention, is take those emblems off! The picture of the sport shows them still on the doors and I can't stand that. I guess here everyone knows what Rams look like, but across the pond you might want to leave them on so people know what it is.

Good luck!

If you want to level, go with bilstein 5100's. A lot of guys are running them on here and there are a large number of threads on here about it.

Thats good, a lot of responses :)

A problem in England with trying to find one without chrome like the sport/express models is, these are rare vehicles here so you can't really be too picky when they come up for sale. I will have to work round a lot of things to get the truck to how I want.
Is de-chroming a simple or difficult task?

How much are the Bilstein 5100's?

Im not too fussed about what wheel it is, but considering its had a level kit, what size wheels will they be, 20x10J, 20x9J? What size spacer do you reckon they have used, if any at all, to pull it out?
What offset wheels and stud pattern etc do I need for a ram?
Any suggestions of what other wheels go well with these rams?

What size tyres will be ok for this sort of look, we work in mm here not inches, would 275/65/20 be ok, or which ones?
I think the ones pictured are 33" tyres.

Thanks for all your help guys.

BTW, its the Laramie pictured Im looking to buy, the Sport sold already but I like the look of the level/flares/no chrome

Another headache with everything is getting things shipped over here!

Hey brother! Awesome to hear about a Ram truck in England. I have very strong family ties to England. My Mom is from England.
My grand dad was infantry and a queens guard.

Any who, there is tons of info on this forum for Ram trucks. I just got a level and some 35" tires installed today. If you want a basic breakdown of what I did, let me know, I will also include the cost. I am sure labor costs might differ in England compared to the states because Trucks are EVERYWHERE out here. Thus, tons of shops with competitive pricing. Something England probably doesn't have. Or heck, I could be wrong :)

Hi man! Good to see some English roots here.
Where is your mum from? Im in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
I haven't bought the ram yet, hoping to though.

It would be helpful if you could give me that info, brands n prices, tyre sizes in english (mm) too :) etc.
Ideally I want a used set of wheels to save on costs, but rams are sooo rare here, it might be easier finding a set on your side of the pond and getting them sent over.
Haven't a clue how to manage the delivery though.

Your right, rams are rare but Toyota hilux, nissan navara etc are common, they are smaller though.
Labour with mechanical work shouldn't be a problem, I have lots of friends who are mechanics.

Look forward to your info on the lift and wheels.

Anybody know anyone selling any aftermarket 20" wheels or where I could find some 2nd hand?
Could be with tyres?

They dont have to be Fuel Hostage wheels
