Hi folks! New Ram owner here. Need some direction as to what to put in the bed. Last truck had plastic bed liner. I need something in bed of new Ram, and after that I want a hard cover. Not the camper top, but one of the tri-fold type. Like to have suggestions as to what you guys have done and what you like or don't like about your choices. Thanks.

Spray in bed liner will be your best bet, if youre willing to do that as a permanent solution, since you have to destroy paint/finish underneath. Drop ins can get water and debris underneath and advance the rust. Some like bed mats or carpet, or a combination of a liner and mat, etc. I would shop around, obviously Line X is the best but I had my dealer do it for me when I purchased the truck, so the brand I got was whatever they use. The finish isnt too rough or things move so that I need a mat, but maybe in the future. And if you know what youre doing or have had experience you can do it yourself. I myself wouldnt but hey who knows.
I just picked up a cheap BAKFlip Fibermax Tonneau and it works great. I couldnt see myself paying the $900 price tag for it but for what I paid I love it. There are plenty of Tonneaus to choose from for tri fold, it really just depends if you want soft/hard, and how much you want to spend. Good luck!

I've done a couple of the DIY herculiners and have been happy with the product. I actually plan on doing my current truck this spring if it ever warms up. It might not be as good or nice as the spray in choices, but it's also less than $150 compared to $400+.

Or if you're just looking for a little floor protection and to keep things from sliding around, a horse stall mat from TSC is another very cheap option.

Welcome to RamForum.

I went with a Rhino Linings spray in bed liner on my last two Ram trucks and have been very happy with the results.

My only complaint about the Rhino lining on my truck was it faded too much for my liking.

Linex with a MOPAR rubber bed mat (easy on the knees and the cargo doesn't slide around) and the MOPAR hard folding cover. I am happy with all of it so far. Here is a pic of the cover.

LINE X is the only way to go IMO. They are amazing with there lifetime warranty, i had a air pocket in mine and called the shop and there wasnt even a question asked except when is it conveniant for me to bring them the truck so they can either fix or redo it. Ive had mine for roughly 4 years now and i am constantly sliding my dirtbike ramps in and out of it and get it caked in mud after riding and it still looks like the day i purchased it. If you keep your eyes peeled occasionally line x vendors/installers run promtions, i got mine for 20% off during a promotion
