Well, MOPAR doesn't make oil filters. They contract with other companies to have the right to sell their filters under the MOPAR name. Same thing with house brand filters, like the ones you find at auto parts stores. The issue I have with that is that MOPAR doesn't use the same supplier year over year, they simply will contract with the lowest bidder for a given period of time. The filter MOPAR uses simply needs to meet specs provided by MOPAR to the manufacturer.
I prefer to stick with proven brands like Wix or RP. I haven't heard or seen negative reviews about their filters.
The AMSOIL oil filter is basically the same as the Royal Purple extended life oil filter. The only difference is that the AMSOIL filters cost more and don’t sport a fancy purple paint job. If you need further proof, they are both made by Champion Labs.
