Hey all. Not sure where this belongs tbh.

2017 ram 1500 Ecodiesel, I have no heat blowing in the cab. Coolant temps 192 while running around town currently. Problem just started today. What should I look for, consider etc?

Blend door and its actuator or a partially or completely blocked heater core. I had both happen on my 2001 just not at the same time. The heater core reared its ugly head going from Northern Colorado to Las Vegas one December. -16 deg. F on top of Vail Pass. Lots of clothes worn on that trip, let me tell you. A small piece of cardboard in front of the radiator made it bearable enough so I could take off my insulated overalls and gloves. But that was just temporary until I could get it fixed.

I feel your pain.

So I was looking stuff up and goi through the checklist, coolant levels good, tubes to and from cab same temp to touch. But while testing things out in cab, it started working again? Not sure if it was a fluke. Hoping it was.

Kinda makes it hard to troubleshoot when it starts working again for no reason, huh? But at least you have heat now.

Glad it fixed it self :) Bummer not knowing what happened ! My guess is the blend doors stuck or loose connection on the actuators ! If it happens again and you find out what caused it please update us ! Thanks

At 192°F your coolant temp is on the low side, when your moving it should be closer to 204°F. If the weather is around or below freezing you want to use a winter front to help retain engine heat and fuel efficiency. The heater hoses should have been hot to the touch, if they were not there is a three way valve the directs coolant between the cab or the transmission heater. If the hoses were hot it's probably a blend door or HVAC module causing the problem.

To reset all HVAC doors travels: With blower on low, Press and hold the recirc button for ten seconds, release the button and then press it again and hold until the recirc light flashes. the doors will all go through thier travels and reprogram the actuators.
