I tried to post a new thread but screwed it up royally. It shows an attachment that I really don't want to send out, but I can find no way to delete it. How can I dump it and start with a clean slate?

Thanks, Rick Johnson

Click on the edit link in your post (lower-left corner), scroll down to see your attachments and click on the wee garbage can on each attachment that you want to remove. Click save when you're finished.

That should fix the attachment. To delete text, click on the same edit button, clear the text, add a period or any character and hit save.

Thanks, but I can't find the little garbage can. Guess I'll just try it again.

Ill take care of it. Send me a PM of what you want to remove.

But, I think I got it, let me know if you need anything else.

Sorry, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to sending stuff back and forth on this forum. I don't know how to do the PM (which I assumeis Private Message). Anyway I think you did take care of it. It doesn't pop up on my screen any more. I re-did my original post and typed it in directly on the forum, rather than trying to copy and paste it from a document I had prepared. Thank you very much, and I'm sorry to cause you any extra work.

If you hover over someone's username, a box will show up and then click on "Start conversation".

No worries.

Everyone has a different thinking process and some folks get lost with computers, phones and technical items.

To send PMs (private messages), click on the username and then on the start conversation button in the window that opens.

I have never had any luck with cut and paste
If I type something and then think that too much B.S. as I am not in politics,
I just start at end of the post and hold the back space down ( on the computer) and its gone,
Thou I think you still have a empty post up if you already posted it to the forum

I don't see the delete , that is just for the attachments ?

When you add attachments to a post, while you're editing or anytime before you tap the post reply button, all the attachments appear at the bottom left edge.

A tiny little garbage can will appear on each attachment to allow them to be deleted.

See post #2, above.

Otherwise, while composing text, if I suddenly decide the last line doesn't work, I highlight the line, right-click and hit delete.

Or, I could use the delete or backspace key after highlighting but using the mouse is faster/easier.

Thanks everybody for the help and advice. I think G-Ride990 took care of the original problem because the mess I made on my computer seemed to disappear without any help from me. If a similar problem comes up again, hopefully I'll be able to fix it myself without having to cry for help. Thanks again.
