I had every filter on my 14 1500 leak at the seal Accept the m1 113. Unless you put them on with a filter wrench.

Local dealer did my oil changes on my truck, wifes Commander and daughters Jeep. 4 of 5 oil changes they left the filter loose. Loose enough to the point that I could turn it about a full turn by hand. Daughters Jeep leaked a quart of oil in a 15 mile drive after she left the dealership. But once I tightened them I had no issues. A second dealer did the same. Wasn't a bad leak but after a few weeks noticed a little drip spot. Tightened it a little with a wrench and no more drip. This was on my 2013 1500 with a 5.7. Wife's Commander had the 3.7 and daughters Jeep was a 2006 GC with a 5.7

You realize that the oil changes at the dealer are done by a car porter who was promoted and given a $0.50/hr raise(ok maybe a $1...lol). Very rarely is an oil change at the dealer done by one of the mechanics, usually your car is on the hoist for for other repairs.

yeah. But even their 'mechanics' can't get it right. They had caused damage on my step-son's car when they replaced the engine under warranty (cracked bumper, missing wheel well 'flap', scratched wheel from tire rotation, permanent fingerprints in the fender on my old 1500, etc). So maybe they have oil change boys doing engine swaps too...lol

Yeah I learned quickly about Saturday appointments.....dont ever pick one. The only "techs" there are the shop gophers for oil changes, and one time I let them replace the radio in my wife's old car. Took forever, the trim was scratched when it was finally done, etc.

Its ashame because Im sure there are at least a FEW good techs out there, but Ive been burnt enough that going to a dealer is a last resort, even with a vehicle under warranty.

There are crazies on the Bob oil forum running the same Fram Ultra filters 3 times! I use them but only once of course.

So perhaps it’s a lack of Quality Control?
