Does anyone know what size the original stock muffler is on a 2010 Quad Cab 1500 5.7? I ask because the muffler that was on it (I bought the truck used) was 14 inches. I replaced it with a 14" Heartthrob and was wondering if the muffler that was on it when I bought it was an aftermarket.
Just curious.
Appreciate your replies.

The total length of the stock muffler is just shy of 40", so you definitely had an aftermarket muffler on there. The stock muffler is a tank.

This is a picture of the stock muffler single in single out next to what I believe is a 18" Magnaflow single in double out.

As you can see the stock muffler is a beast. You obviously replaced an after market 14" with another after market 14".

Here is a picture of the 14, 18 and 24" Mufflex kits; a Magnaflow muffler already made up with the adapter piping in stainless to match the factory muffler install for bolt on applications.

You can see from end to end of the piping just how large the OEM box is.

I thought I was replacing an aftermarket muffler with another aftermarket muffler. I did some research before buying the 14" Heartthrob. Not sure what brand was on there when I bought the truck but the Heartthrob has zero drone. The other one did. I didn't mind it for the the first 3 months after buying the truck but it started to get annoying. The sound level at the tailpipes is the same (moderately aggressive) as before. Thank you all for your replies!! This is an awesome forum!!

That thing is heavy aswell.

Yeah, Chrysler went with the 9.25ZF rear end to save a few pounds for fuel economy, and then they go and design a 100 lb. muffler to slap right next to it... wtf
