I have a 1994 1500 5.2 Mag with a 5 speed manual transmission 170K miles and is stone stock. I am the original owner. Several years ago it developed a hesitation around 1800 rpm. It is most noticeable in 1st gear but is present in all gears when passing 1800 rpm. New plugs, wires, cap, and rotor did not help. I use fuel system cleaner at least 3x a year. Recently it stopped doing it for a few weeks but now its back. It does seem somewhat temperature sensitive in that sometimes it does not do it if the motor is still cold.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'd say try changing coil, and crank sensor, that will eliminate the ignition system if it don't fix it.....it should tho.

Thanks for the reply. By the entire ignition did you do anything more than cap, rotor, plugs and wires? What is strange is that there is no check eng. light and the problem briefly went away and then returned. Makes me think it might be some type of switch or valve in the emissions system.

The ignition system consist of plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor button, coil, and crank sensor

Ok, thanks. I am going junk yard hunting on the off chance I might find a LMC like another fellow did and will pick up the last two items and give them a try. I also need a cup holder. Its tough chasing down gremlins.

jbmobbs I see you have a lifted and loud truck. My nephew has similar and he gets pulled over at least twice a month. He is not out hell raising either. Have you had this issue in your area? I live in Central Louisiana.
