in the off road lights........no. Well, it can be done, but the cost is stupid crazy. I'd toss in a PNP HID kit in them. You don't really want a cutoff on those - they aren't used for road use anyway (well, normally I would assume!)

Uh oh, you said PNP... ;)

What might you recommend to get the most out of the off road lights? Keeping in mind, I know nothing about HID's.

I sure did. :D

I have done a few HID installs in off road lights. Dave's, Wendy's, mine (from my 08) and a customer in KC. Its really pretty easy, depending on the lights you have.

Remind me what lights you have in there? Are they BIG - glass front with a huge back bowl, or are they like the Hella 500s?

Just throw some PNP HIDs in there dude. After I saw what JJ did to a set I contemplated installing some behind the grille on my truck, but the round lights don't flow well enough for me on a 2wd.

:D

I'm thinking Kevin's are more along the lines of a "slim" type - where the ballast won't fit inside of them. I think.......

I think they are Westin lights. Here is a pic what they look like.

And who is JJ? I've heard his name mentioned a couple times now.

man, you MIGHT be able to fit ballasts inside those things............a slim ballast HID kit.

I know they fit in these (Daves):

How much rewiring does it require? I have my lights run now about as clean as I can.

Not much really.

On Dave's.......all the wiring was done INSIDE the light. 2 wires came out, they went to the wiring from the harness (relay harness from his kit). If it won't fit........little more. Ballasts will have to be mounted somewhere and wires will need to be ran. Might be more fun!

I would stick to a 35W kit in there. That will be stupid bright, especially with 4! 55W would probably be WAY too much heat for that type of enclosure.

So in other words, between 4 35W HIDs and my headlights/fogs, I could really light things up... is that what you're telling me?

This is sounding better and better.
