I got myself 6 bottles delivered a few days ago. Always use si-1. I just got 6 bottles of si-1 for $90, filled up 22 gallons of gas yesterday for $90 and I'll be doing that gas fill up again next week and the week after and so on. I can't wrap my head around cost complaints for s-1 if you are adding a couple bottles every 5-15K miles when we're paying $4 for 1 gallon of gas.

From what I've seen, I wouldn't go the other way. I'm not going to be doing 1/2 bottles at all, especially with our big tanks. How many gallons of gas your tank? I think perhaps going the other way less often in theory is a legit option?

BTW, what made you run valvoline? We as a forum have been on that for a while, seams like a good 1-2 punch with si-1. Oil from the bottom, si-1 from the top.
I am going to reduce from one whole bottle of redline s1 to 1/2 of a bottle and see what happens because redline s1 is thinning my wallet! My tank cap is 19 gallons. I stated using Valvoline RP because of the Oil Geek on YouTube and I had stuck piston rings due to carbon buildup from oil burning/oil consumption.

I had been adding one full bottle for every gas filled. Been using 12 bottles consecutively. I can’t keep doing forever. Plan to reduce 1/2 a bottle for every gas fill up.

We will be very interested on those long term numbers, please update thread when you get that boroscoped. How has oil consumption been since your treatments? Any blue smoke on start ups? Was there prior?

As good as premium shell is, still seams like not enough ring cleaning w/o r&P and si-1?

ALWAYS since I bought the car at 3 miles in 2011. Never had oil change at dealer or any other shops. Now it has 250,000 miles. 2011 Acura MDX Advance

Would that be funny if both RP and their fuel cleaners was PEA, ha. I haven't seen SDS on RP so probably not anyhow, but it would be nice to know the technology.

I am a bit disappointed that after 12 bottles of redline, shell 93 nitro and Valvoline RP and still does not clean the top piston completely. Probably due to the fact that it doesn’t matter because my engine has oil consumption issue due to its low tension ring design.

Valvoline actually says the fuel system cleaner does not contain PEA but some other new proprietary cleaner

Next time you boro may be get something that wont leave anything behind and try scraping the top. Perhaps eventhough there is carbon it might be loose. The good news is the rings are cleaned, not really sure what the answer for the tops would be. Some look perfect after a treatment and some don't. Maybe it is a sign of how the engine delivers fuel? But bottom line rings are good.

SDS on their oils shows a couple things in low %, esters for one. Phosphorodithioic and Diphenylamine but all in small concentration. My guess the secret wont last forever, other oils must be spinning over RP.

In my opinion the combination of piston soaks with Berryman b12 and using Valvoline RP after clean the piston ring land. As for the redline it’s doing a good job cleaning the valves, piston top and fuel injector.

I'd go check the other boro's we gathered first post in thread. 4 boroscopes other then yours same result, si-1 cleans around the rings and sides of piston tops. all 4 boro's plus yours and they only used redline. I'm headed out, thanks again for joining I speak on behalf of forum many guys appreciate you man!

I have to look later we have 4, but I see two in second post and the one I showed the injector result. I don't have the time to gather right now, check back later. thanks again

Has anyone ever run redline through their vacuum line to be sucked directly into the intake like you would with seafoam?

Tried it the other day with a partial bottle I had left. Was a massive smoke show after I restarted and took it for a ride. How much it helped, not sure. If you plan to try it, I'd suggest doing it at night since you're literally going to smoke out the neighborhood.

I was thinking about this but I can’t figure out how to spray through the intake manifold. It would be easy if it is in aerosol can.

I pulled the hose for the evap purge valve and just let it suck up the redline a bit at a time.

More of an issue with GDI engines that don't inject PEA-treated gas at the intake valve stem. Add a turbo, and you gotta clean the compressor blades too, from the PCV gouk misting on it.

CRC Intake Valve Cleaner is a good one for this - if you want to clean your piston crown you could try it. Just be sure to spray in AFTER the MAP sensor!!!
