Some updates:

I have been using S1 with this method (recommended by one of the members in here) and it is more effective than my method which is 1 bottle per tank.

1. After the fuel tank (19 gal tank) is half- emptied I added 1 bottle of S1 and drove until the fuel empty warning light came on and then add 1 more bottle of S1 and filled up the tank until it’s full.

2. I keep repeating step #1 3 times and so far i noticed the carbon buildup on the piston head melting faster.

Here are the photos:

1st photo is after using 1 bottle per tank.

2nd photo is after using 1 bottle/tank and 1 bottle per 1/2 tank.
Thanks Jim, that is like night and day.

Do you have before-and-after treatment with the same view?

And are you using 6 bottles in a row, for a total of about 85 litres of gas?
19 litres * 1.5 * 3

.
See the stamped piston top, it is the same view but a tad cropped.

I would say I'm not sure we should be chasing completely clean pistons, as long as rings are clear for the hemi, we are good.

Forget to mention the piston rings. My oil consumption is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced by 70 to 80%. Been using Valvoline RP as well

Here are before and after.
Consecutive use.
Note: I had oil consumption issue ( consuming 1 quart for every 600-900 miles) but the oil consumption is getting improved during using S1. This why the after photo keep getting carbon deposits pilling up in the middle of the piston head and S1 is working hard to combat the issue .

I think by using Valvoline RP and S1 as a combo will clean and keep the piston rings from carbon buildup.

The other good news is that I don’t have any more predenations. As you know excessive carbon buildup in the combustion chamber causes predenation.

Awesome! Thanks @Burla. It's been in my list. I've only used Techron once and a lubegard fuel treatment once.

How often would you do it? I'm at 67K. Did techron about 3 months ago. Lubegard about 6 before that. Those were the only times I added anything to the tank in 3 yrs.
You put out good videos Burla. Really enjoy them.

Just found this eBay seller selling 12 packs for $159 plus $3 shipping. I have been kept watching the listing and they have been sold out a few days later and after a few days later they are back in stock. I noticed a few eBay sellers are doing this. I suspect the sellers got these for cheap through illegal activities through their buddies whose work in the warehouse house.

That guy only wants $3 for shipping? Wow.
And he ships from Allentown, PA. That's only 90 minutes
from me, although I couldn't drive there and back for $3.

Amazon is currently showing $199 for the same case.

Lubegard, Redline S1... With 51K on my truck with the regular maintenance I give it (oil, filter 89/93 octane pump mix, clean AFE dry element, tire rotations...etc) can the Hemi be over juiced...for lack of a better term. I've used some fuel injector cleaner in my truck only 3 times. When the plugs were changed at 36K the tips were rounded but no carbon at all and the porcelain on the plugs were a nice pale grey. Mechanic said I was getting plenty of good air and was burning all my fuel.

Redline Si-1 is an excellent injector cleaner.
Are you using another product for this purpose too?

Crap - I forgot to look. So, there are two dosages, the cleaning dose, and the maintenance dose.

The cleaning dose is what Red Line concentration calls for.

The maintenance does is what approximates Top Tier dosage. Since we don't know what amount of detergent is in non-Top Tier Gas, I think I just used the maintenance dose on the bottle.

I have used injector cleaner 3 times and it was O'Reily brand. After reading these threads its probably...well it would be low grade cleaner. Like I've said this is my first Hemi and learning about the Hemi even though I did read info about them before I bought the truck. I've learned more off this forum then any of the articles I read before.

Not my Ram, this is my Accord K24, 153,000 miles. I pulled the plugs yesterday to try and get a before and after of a few tanks of SL-1. I don't think I'm gonna see a difference in these pistons. 1 and 4 might clean up a bit, but I definitely didn't expect this clean of an inside. Now I know why it runs so good and doesn't burn oil.

Well it's been almost a year, 19k miles, mostly Shell 87 gas, 3 or 4 SL1 bottles throughout, 2 Valvoline R&P fuel cleaners recently, and I just started my 4th run of 5W-30 R&P oil.

WOW! I have 51K on my Ram and wouldn't think there would be that kind of build up. I have to gas up tomorrow anyway so I'll get a bottle of redline and start on it. Question: What interval is it to be used at. I change oil every 5K? Also is it safe for the cats?
