I was hoping to get your hot idle rpm.
Have you increased your idle speed?

Ah, hot idle rpm ... I haven't changed anything concerning that, it's still factory specs ...

I'll post a note for you soon to what my HEMI engine hot idle rpm is for arguments sake.

I'm old and slow, comprehension is a little rough on me, lately ...

Haha no worries. Was just wondering if idle was stock or bumped up. Great hot idle psi. I'm getting 34ish hot idle at stock rpm with 5w-30 and Mopar mo899 filter.

Yeh, I haven't changed anything concerning idle speed ... It's still factory specs.

When I was using Pennzoil Platinum 5w/20 and the MOPAR MO339(smaller oil filter)when my HEMI truck was still very new, the oil psi at hot idle was 44 and consistent.

When I eventually moved up to the larger Purolator Boss oil filter/Red Line 5w/30, the psi increased ... and it's the same as the Royal Purple oil filter that I've used.

On the current oci, I've gone back to the Purolator Boss oil filter and still using Red Line 5w/30.

I'm going to try the RP 20-820 next oci and see if anything changes. I am really happy so far with the Valvoline EP. Fingers crossed. But would like as much flow/psi as possible like everyone else.
Thanks for the info.

Wild one what do your 5.7's hot idle pressures run at? If you have one at stock idle rpm that is.

You're making a joke right, lol.Everything i own in regards to Ma Mopar has the idle turned up.Truck hot at 750 rpm idles at 51/52 psi in gear ,my 300 which has a completely stock oiling system, idles at 48/49 hot in gear at 750 rpm,the 1320's 6.4 idles a bit slower at 725 rpm and with it's piston squirters is a bit lower then the 5.7's at about 44 psi

My HEMI is factory specs on engine rpm idle ~650 rpm.

When I'm out and about and get caught up in stopped traffic or long light wait times at busy intersections, I'll put it in neutral and rev up the rpm ... I guess, the folks that are beside me think I'm wanting "to race" them.

As soon as the traffic light turns green, they shoot out light a bat outta heck, only to catching the next stop light, lol.

You can get an aftermarket tuner to bump idle rpm to normal 750 rpm.
I forget the brand the guys are using now.
Normal idle rpm = before EPA CAFE mileage standards made manufacturers do stupid things to their engines for miniscule gas savings. This being one of many that harms engine longevity.

You'll need an unlocked pcm / bypass cable and tuner to bump your idle rpm up. It's not exactly cheap to bump the idle rpm up on the 15+ trucks. Unless you plan on tuning the truck,it's hard to justify the costs involved to just bump the idle up
