OK I'm confused. I was searching for the RP 20-820 filter online and no one has them or they are stupid expensive. I tried looking back through here and see some filters may have changed their media and some not available? What constitutes the top three at this time? Or what amsoil part number should I look for?

dang, looks like those of us who stocked up were smart?? This is a special filter, I really would buy up the sister amsoil filter if I could. On any fitament chart enter 2010 ram and you will get the larger filter.

RP 20-500 oil filter is almost as big as 20-820. Check that for availability. Already got mine for winter oil change, so you guys won't be taking "mine". lol

Looks like the 20-500 is still available...at least there is an option to add it to your cart. Not so with the 20-820.

If there is gonna be issues getting the 20-820, top two other choices battle it out. Good news, the second layer fram is no longer that yellow stuff. Both look great, but man amsoil sure has a glue issue like in everyone cut open? That is a little concerning. However the fram has less holes, similar to that boss filter that ticked my truck. So I think I favor the ea, but I'd at least try the fram.

This is available as maybe a third option, a step above wix xp but maybe a step below the top 3? Good low bypass rating and I would wager high flow. Has to be the Boss.

Level of worry that oil filters sitting off the coast for months are being ruined? Those containers are metal and insulated and you can barely stand in them when they are hot. It is summertime and ships are sitting off shore for months now. How many filters are being ruined by dry heat cycles? Note my findings earlier this year when I accidentally found out the hard way heat dry cycles can stiffin paper filters just like wet heat cycles. Need more reasons to run spun microglass, there ya go.

Take a look at the new package fram ultras. You can look thru the holes in the centertube to see if it still has the metal screen. I bought 5 of them in the new packaging that are old style filters

RP 20-820 done?. Glad I decided on buying a bulk of 6 on July 11th. Now to find a comparable replacement if it comes to it not being made any more.

It will be a while i believe. Vp racing is coming out with an oil filter line made by champ labs the same company that makes royal purple and the vp820 which we can assume is the 20-820 clone based on part number is still listed as "coming soon" while they got most of their other filters are in stock.
